“Oh kitty, mother just doesn’t understand me.” Asha said as she looked over to the black cat that sat on her nightstand watching her closely. Asha sighed deeply and laid back on her bed. “She thinks that I am not ready to leave the house without protection. But I’m perfectly fine on my own you know?” The cat jumped off the night stand and climbed onto the bed crawling next to Asha purring in a soothing way.

“I just want to be free to do what I want I’m a grown woman after all, she can’t keep treating me like a child.” She said petting the cat slowly watching it’s eyes go low because of how good it felt to be pet. “I love you kitty at least you understand me.” Suddenly the door opened and in walked Asha’s mother. She put her hands on her hips and looked at her daughter.

“I have good news Asha. You’ll be back very soon.” The woman said with a grin across her face.

“Wait, really?!” Asha said getting excited. She sat up looking at her mother with her striking light eyes smiling with a somewhat devious grin plastered across her face. She ran her hand through her hair and thought to herself taking things in.

“Yes, but I still need you to stay inside in the meantime...” She added looking at Asha before running her hand through her long dark hair. Asha frowned and looked at her mother.

“But why?!” She asked before pouting like a little kid.

“I told you already Asha. The world is a scary and dangerous place. You are not yet ready to venture out on your own. You need protection. I will not let them take you away from me.” She said before tapping Asha’s nose in an endearing way.

“Mom, I don’t need protection. I’m a fighter.” Asha said with slight irritation laced in her tone of voice. Asha didn’t want to be locked up like an animal anymore.

“Don’t tell me what you need Asha. I am your mother...your creator. That means that I know what is best. Mother is wise Asha.”
She said raising an eyebrow at Asha making sure that she knew that what she said was serious.

“I’m sorry Mommy.” She said in a reserved tone feeling small compared to the power and aura that her mom displayed before her.

“Just listen to mummy okay?” She said giving Asha a stern glare. Asha simply nodded her head being obedient to her creator.

“Have you spoken with my brother Boaz?” She asked curiously. Her mother rolled her eyes and shook her head slowly.

“Don’t worry about Boaz I’m the only one who should. Focus on getting yourself ready for your debut! Don’t try and contact him either Asha, I forbid it. I’m the one that needs to talk to him.” She said with sharp tone practically shooting daggers over at Asha with her eyes. Asha swallowed hard feeling intimidated by Mrs. Astor.

“Oh….okay.” She said in a timid voice. She didn’t want to image what type of trouble she would be in if she didn’t obey her mother’s commands. After Asha spoke Mrs. Astor headed out of the room. She shut the door behind her and Asha fell back on her bed.

“I guess I’m just supposed to be alone for now. At least I have you kitty.”
She said in a low sad tone, she looked over to eye the cat but it was gone.

“Kitty?” She said again looking around before letting out a long deep sigh. “So, it's just me..great.”
