The two walked side by side in the airport. Ty had his backpack on and his other bag thrown over his shoulder. He carried one of Phoebe’s to try and make the walk easier for her. It had been a long week with emotions all over the place for both of them but it was now coming to an end. It was almost an odd feeling. Before this week they just kind of knew the other existed, besides one crazy night years ago, but it’s not like they were close friends. They hadn’t really had any emotional talks about what the other was going through they just seemed to paint on faces and tried to make sure the other was doing alright. It sounded like something out of a short story but he could decide on who the writer would be, yet for some reason he felt an urge to read Carver. He’d have to see if there was a shop selling books before he got on his plane. Phoebe kept glancing sporadically at Ty, trying to read his expression and decipher his mood while picking through her own emotions. The two had been dealing with their own issues as well as their emotions that seemed to be strewn about like fallen party streamers on the floor. Ty had been busy at work, having to travel to compete for his scheduled matches and Phoebe had been there, supportive and by his side with having to try to focus more on him being okay rather than worry about her own issues that she didn’t know how to sort out or even go about. She glances at him again, wanting to break the silence and feel things out.

Phoebe: Shall you stop for a coffee or something before your flight?

Ty: My flight is a charter. I can leave whenever. I’m more concerned with you making your flight on time and getting home ok. But if you want to get some we can.

He looked over at her and flashed a smile. He really was worried about her making it home alright. This time she would be alone and it left an uneasy feeling. Looks around for a Starbucks and sees the signs directing each direction to where the cafes, restaurants and places were. Seeing the sign that pointed to the right for Starbucks, Phoebe points it out to Ty as the two make their way through the rushing people and feel relief once they make it out of the crazy section by the escalators and head towards the small Starbucks. Seeing that there were three small tables inside and one was free, Phoebe quickly leads Ty over to it to place her bag in one of the empty chairs and begins to help Ty unload to put their stuff down to officially call dibs on the table. She nods her head towards the counter at him.

Phoebe: Here… you just sit here and relax while I go get our drinks. What are you having?

He thought quickly not to hold them up.

Ty: Just get me a white chocolate mocha please.

With a swift nod of her head and a growing smile, she turns to head for the counter where she politely greets the worn out Starbucks cashier. She places their order, makes sure she keeps that friendly smile on her face as the cashier tells the only other employee what the order is before handing Phoebe her change. Phoebe makes sure she puts the twenty krona banknote along with the sixty five cents of the change in the tip jar before she moves over to the side so any approaching customers can get to the counter to wait for their orders. She glances back to look at Ty just to try to catch the expression on his face, wondering what he’s thinking about and if he’s okay. She was nervous because she just wanted to make sure he was okay, especially since Phoenix entrusted her to look after him. The two had history…. Having met as strangers at a bar about two years ago and had engaged in a make out session after having too many drinks. Phoebe was surprised to find later on after being hired to work at Quagliaterre Inc as Phoenix’s personal assistant that the stranger she had that encounter with was in fact not only a well known professional wrestler and business owner but also one of Phoenix’s closest friends. Phoebe and Ty had started hanging out only recently and after news got out of the suicide of Jackson Magnum, she stayed by his side to ensure that he would be okay and to provide support. The announcing of their orders being finished broke Phoebe out of her thoughts as she smiled at the employee when being handed the two venti cups and turned to make her way back to their table. Placing his cup in front of him, she flashes him that warm smile once more.

Phoebe: One venti white chocolate mocha for you and one venti iced latte macchiato for me.

She takes her seat and takes that first sip in hopes that she would be satisfied and finds that they made it just right. Silence surrounds them before she searches her brain for something to say.

Phoebe: So I…. really enjoyed myself. It was very overwhelming to see how busy you are but overwhelming in… a good way, if that makes any sense? I was really happy to be apart of this journey with you.

He smirked and then took a sip from his drink. A wave of relief hit him and he wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was because he knew he finally had a few days off, even though it was him who made the crazy schedule in the first place.

Ty: I had to keep busy this week or else I would have gone crazy. Thank you for keeping me busy when I wasn’t wrestling. I know we haven’t spent a ton of time together but you’re a good friend Phoebe. I won’t forget this. I owe you one.

Phoebe: Of course… at first, i wondered would things be awkward between because you know… our past. But then we were having conversations and you were casually checking in on me. Then had lunch where….

She pauses, not wanting to bring up when he had gotten those dreaded news about Jackson Magnum.

Phoebe: It really means alot to me. Seems like all of my friends are busy with their relationships and careers, which is completely understandable. So it’s been nice to spend time, hang out and just have someone I am able to have all of these conversations with instead of keeping myself company.

It made Ty remember that drunken night for a slight second then he put him behind him because Jackson kept flooding in. So much he let down that guard he always keeps up.

Ty: You’d be surprised. Despite all the friends I’m supposed to have and all this goddamn money I have I still feel lonely most of the time.

After he realized he said it he wanted to jump out of his skin but it was too late. All he did was drink from his cup to hide his face.some more. She stares at him, shocked at his words and hit with a revelation. How often do we see people surrounded by others and swimming in money that causes us to assume their happiness? That their smiles come from the wealth, the fame, the many rewards that they reap. But not many realize that smiles can be a cloak to hide the pain, the worries, everything you don't want the world to see.

Phoebe: I'm… honestly shocked. You, lonely? I mean… look at you. You're so successful and you're a very friendly person. I would think that your social life is booming.

There was no turning back from here. He opened up a can of worms and now was going to have to deal with it.

Ty: A lot of people with mental illness are really good at putting on a mask. So that’s what I tend to do at times. I’m social at shows or at gatherings, you know places I need to be. But in all honesty I have this feeling that deep down not many of them really like me, that they’re just dealing with me. They might laugh at my joke and shit but if they were asked about me they just might go “Ty’s ok”. So I figured I would just get a place where I can go be alone. Next thing I know I have a mansion in southern Siberia.

Ty said it all sheepishly, almost ashamed. The idea of what she was currently thinking about him was too much to fathom. How could he let himself get into this situation?

Phoebe: Ty.. you shouldn't separate yourself from everyone… only the ones that aren't genuine or influential in your life should be cast aside.

She's still processing his words, a bit taken back by his confession and not expecting his words.

Phoebe: Also, don't put on a facade as well because once you pretend to be happy, you only begin to suffer.

Ty just laughed almost by instinct.

Ty: I’ve been pretending my whole life.

Phoebe: But… why? Like why do you feel the need to live your life this way?

It was a hard question, and one where he didn’t even know where to start.

Ty: It’s a long story love, and I don’t really feel like getting into it right now.

She nods her head, definitely respecting his decision to not dive in too deeply into a subject of great significant sensitive value to him.

Phoebe: I apologize… how about we talk about your plans once you get to Russia?

Ty: Pretty much just hang out and wait till the next round of the YGC. Unless Tana goes into labor. Then I’ll be right there for that.

Phoebe: Everyone’s pretty on edge about that, her entire family has been trying to stick close to home in hopes that they are able to make it once the time comes. It’s going to be such a beautiful time, children are truly a great gift to this world.

Ty: They’re one of the best things in the world, I’m really happy for Jason and Tana.

His mind started to slip again and get lost in other things.

Phoebe: I've never seen Mrs. Quagliaterre so energetic over pregnancy like this. Her family is so over the moon about it.

Phe. She swirled into his head like a siren luring him with her song. For a moment everything stopped. There was no noise, no anything really, and he lost his better judgment.

Ty: Did Phe send you to watch me to make sure I didn’t try to kill myself?
