I swear I'll post it this afternoon! ISWEAR

Good. Now Brian or I won't have to do it. You missed the deadline, so you have no control of your list - you must do it based solely on your top 18 skaters and 2 goalies based on OA ranking. You won't even have to do any thinking!

Having seen GM's once again willfully ignore the list deadline, I think some sort of deterrent needs to be put in place to the lazy GM's who can't be bothered to post their list despite having 3 weeks notice. Thus, I propose we adapt one of the following rules for next season:

A: Teams who have an active GM and fail to post a list are prohibited from selecting players in the waiver draft but can still lose players;

B: Teams who have an active GM and fail to post a list will be assigned the standard 18/2 by OA with the following add-on. The 18th skater protected by OA will become unprotected and is replaced by the lowest OA skater that must be protected. In some instances, that 18th skater can be an NHL'er or an elite AHL'er.

I personally think A is the better option but B could have some merit as well. What say you?

What's the deal with Anaheim? People need time to scout his unprotected list....

Don't bother, there's not gonna be anyone on it. I would have gone ahead and done his work for him otherwise. Since his unprotected players suck, I felt no need to do Alex's work for him.

you have to list the oa of players unprotected, unless that changed.

It has - teams had the option of listing the OA's or not if they so desired. If you read the instructions in the first post (also shown below), it does not say that OA must be listed as it has in years past. Some did anyways just for the heck of it. If we're being picky, you're supposed to list your 1st and 2nd drop players...just saying. :D

All GMs need to post their protection lists for the waiver draft. First list your protected players (18 skaters, 2 goalies) and then list your unprotected players who have an overall rating of 60 or higher. Both lists must be listed in order from highest to lowest overall rating. Also, remember to list the two players whom you would unprotect if you claim someone during the actual draft.

And once again, Alex's lack of doing any work for himself is apparent. Instead of reading something for himself, he starts bitching about other people not following a rule that no longer exists. Well done!

I support Brian's new rules, I know I was kinda last minute (I always am) but this would be a suitable change and it means more free decent players lmao :P

Bumping this since we never really had a resolution on it last season. The proposed rules would be affecting several teams* as it stands now. Thoughts, good, bad, too late to implement this year?

*Teams who've still yet to post a list, several of which have been online enough to be more than aware of the deadline:

Buffalo
Detroit
Minnesota
Nashville
San Jose
Toronto (protected list done, not unprotected)

Option A seems very reasonable.

And still, even after I asked you to do it this afternoon, you didn't post a list. I definitely think Toronto should not be allowed to participate in the draft.
