It was at the draft last August. I was going to make the switch to 1.16 but stream needed to make the guidelines for everyone to follow before we could continue which he never did, that's why there was never an actual topic.

http://s11.zetaboards.com/HWL3/topic/868485/

Pages 7-9 are all on the switch
That was 2 drafts ago, a lot has happened since then obviously. Even then, there's no real announcement saying that it was for sure going to happen at some point. That's what I was referring to when I said I had no idea it was official; until now, I assumed this was up for discussion.

Look, it's certainly not the end of the world (heck, I've got enough present and future depth to probably be least affected by this anyway) but I personally would have preferred something a little more definitive than hypothetical speculation/debate from 2 seasons ago serving as notice of a change.
*sigh* You're missing the point. I'm not saying the whole time in between was also "1.16 is coming" time. I couldn't make an official topic because stream needed to make the guidelines. He never did so it got put on the backburner and we settled back in with 1.18.

Then stream brings it up again, I tell him we're good if he gets around to making the guidelines, he does this time, we switch. Because I'd already had the intention to switch last year, I skip the discussion now. That's why I'm leaving leeway until the beginning of next year for everyone to figure out/get used to the changes.

Think I would've made an entire draft class in a weekend when I could've just popped in 1.16? No way.

My point is that there was never a discussion in the first place, just random bantering. Heck, I was in that conversation and didn't interpret anything said as more as hypothetical. You may have had the intention to switch 2 seasons ago but reading that thread over now, it's a stretch to interpret anything you or anyone else posted as anywhere near definitive as to this is the way we're going down the road.

For a switch as substantial as this is, you don't think some sort of formal discussion thread would have been beneficial, while we waited for Streamer to make the guidelines? Something that showed all the pros and cons (something even I'm not fully aware of other than more randomness in the draft and periodic time saving here and there for a simmer with regards to Euro contracts). That's all I'm saying, it just seems sudden now, we go from what seemed like hypothetical talk 2 seasons ago to yes, we're switching. Maybe it's just me who feels this way (wouldn't be the first time :) ), who knows?

With regards to what you mention about leeway into next season; for clarification purposes, would the upcoming draft look like last year's or toward the new standard?

Well like, it's hard for me to answer anything because you're asking me what I was thinking a year ago to which I just want to reply "I don't know". What I remember is

- The discussion in the draft topic was considered the formal discussion

- More definitive planning happened in PM after that because the response was 99% positive

- My cohort in the planning was Habit

- We didn't want to do anything else until we had stream's guideline, rules, whatever which was going to be the pros and cons and how to work around any problems (which has now become this topic). Then I got kicked out of my house and university which pretty much completely derailed things.

I'll give you that it's sudden now and that's why I want to wait until the next pre-season. That's early October. More than enough time for everyone to learn the ins and outs.

As for the draft, since we'd still be a 1.18 league then, it would need to be edited. So I would go with the outline that's already been described but that can be open to debate.

-no need to be scared.
-no need to worry about value of picks.
-actually I'm even pretty sure that picks might climb in value, since a surprise box is worth more than a bag of shit.
-no need to worry about the value of Homza. his value doesn't go down. he's blacklisted = cannot climb up more than he is. he is also worth less than a compareable whitelisted U20... but to be 100% honest, a comparable U20 whitelisted prospect would likely go top 5-10 with the projected stats that I posted.
imo, it doesn't change all that much things besides :

-less hassle to sign euros for simmers all year long
-more excitement in drafts
-some more hassle once a year to monitor the blacklist

all else being fairly equal

Just going to pop this in here, Doesn't really matter for me what we change to. But in regards to the prospects, if i am not mistaken Tony did finish that Excel player creator thing.

I can ask him if he acctually has it ?
