here at half blood school you can literally be anything from mortal to demigod, from satyrs to giants, from dwarves to nymph, the one thing out of the question is gods (be them titan, olympian norse or egyptian they are all not allowed, baldr is allowed for the simple reason he is the head master, and having him be a god helps with him keeping the student body in control) so here is some of the races you can be and some info on them
Demigods demigods are the mortal children that results from god(dess) and human boinking, all but the egyptian pantheon have them, and they serve as ties to the human world. some have theories that state the demigods are the god's greatest weakness as without them they turn more like the egyptian gods, killing off demigods or removing their ties to a pantheon is a common tactics done by gods during time of war. it is common that a demigod is wired differently, ranging from ADHD, Dyslexia (really common, since the gods like to have their kids know how to speak the old ways) Autism(going from really mild to severe, the severe kids normally dont have powers and is overlooked by demigods, only the gods know about them), sociopathy, and so on. Demigods all have powers related to their divine parent's domain, and seems to have an innate power to find demigod camps their divine parent seems to be able to give their kids special powers. if the demigod is the means for the gods to change theory is true then the egyptian pantheon can grow back and stronger by getting demigods, and those that holds this theory class magicians as legacy of the egyptian pantheon the Greek are the most famous for taking demigods, other pantheons normally didnt really do that much fanfare about their kids demigods can grow stagnant, if they do they lose their "personality" turn to shadows of their former self, like narcissus, if this happens they are useless for the gods a demigod legacy from different pantheons was once said to be too powerful, but as proven with the school if you embrace all sides your powers wont fight (for the most part)
Legacy A legacy is any mortal who is a second or further generation descendant of a god. They tend to possess similar abilities to their godly ancestors, though their powers are usually diminished through each generation. as stated in the demigod part magicians are seen by some as the egyptian lagacy. with the school's mingling of the pantheons many students have found out they are a legacy, but from a different pantheon, this is due to in the past the gods have boinked demigods posing as gods from other pantheons thereby stealing a pantheon's ties with the mortal world, while these ties have been "lost" being around others from pantheons of your family's past often gives the gods the power to reclaim a tie and with it granting a demigod powers from a different pantheon, some people have been acting as ties to many pantheons without loosing their ties, (baldr love was a legacy to every pantheon and he knows it and his ties is strong, meaning there are others out there like that) legacy are most common with the concurring pantheons like the romans, and the norse
Centaur Centaurs are the horse human hybrids of greek myth, some of them go to school halfblood. Centaurs are natural party animals, but can be relied on in fights Centaurs can smell divine nature in mortals Centaurs comes in a wide range of types all from the horse family, like donkey, zebra, horse, there are even Centaurs from magical horses like pegasus Centaur or merpeople Centaur (also known as Ichthyocentaur)
Elementals, nymphs and elemental spirits Elementals, nymphs spirits are the immortal sentient magical representation of an element, they are closely related much like the gods. an elemental is a mortal with powers over an element, mortal does not mean must be human, it is not known what makes someone become a elemental, but one theory is legacies mixing.
A nymph (Greek: νύμφη, nymphē) is a minor female nature deity typically associated with a particular location or landform. There are 5 different types of nymphs, Celestial Nymphs, Water Nymphs, Land Nymphs, Plant Nymphs and Underworld Nymphs. Different from goddesses, nymphs are generally regarded as divine spirits who animate nature, and are usually depicted as beautiful, young nubile maidens who love to dance and sing, many nymphs follow greek gods, like Maenads or Bacchai or Bacchantes - frenzied nymphs in the retinue of Dionysus a Nymph is not immortal, while not aging they can be killed by ruining what they are tied too, they can also be killed in a way no one that knows about talks about due to how gruesome it is, Nymphs seems to not care about Pantheons and can be found hanging out with any god, but tends to stay with the greeks due to their similar natures
spirits: raw forces of nature, these are creatures of chaos that is most commonly locked away, they are not mortal spirits, these are the chaotic representation of an element given sentence most known elemental spirits are the storm spirits with the powers of Electrokinesis,Aerokinesis,Intangibility, The ability to fly at the speed of wind, Multiple storm spirits can merge to form a larger, singular one elemental spirits are the siblings (of sorts) to nymphs, and can be tamed (a storm spirit tamed by a child of a wind god or a sky ruler is far from unheard of, same goes for fire spirits and fire demigods, mortals with elemental powers can sometimes even control these beings) the newest chaos spirits were born when Baldr Love became a mortal god and are under his command, they are known to enter a being and rip them apart from the inside, and seems to be trapped by pokeballs
Satyr Satyrs are creatures with the upper body of a man and the lower body of a goat complete with hairy goat legs and hooves, as well as goat horns, and pointed ears of a goat. When in public, they tend to be clumsy, for they have to wear fake feet so that the sound or appearance of their hooves won't draw unwanted attention from mortals. satyrs role in life is looking for demigods to take to camp halfblood or go look for the wild god pan. Satyrs have the following powers They can detect half-bloods and monsters (but not underground) by scent. They can control plants and insects by playing music on their reed pipes. They can talk to animals and some monsters. They have animal-level hearing and smell. They can eat recyclable material (tin, aluminum, plastic, etc) and even wood and grass. They can run at superhuman speeds, along with climbing, as a result of goat legs. They can sense nature magic (such as the Golden Fleece, Pan, and gifts of Pan). They can sense emotions of demigods and of mortals. They practice woodland magic. When they die, they are reincarnated as plants or trees, such as laurels (if they are lucky), and flowers (the average satyr).
Merpeople Merpeople are the half human half fish warriors of the sea gods, merpeople are a proud people, blue or green skin, teeth like sharks, armed with weapons made by cyclops black smiths.
Giants Giants can be found in most pantheons, some people eating some friendly, from the Hrimthurs and eldjötnar of norse to the Hyperboreans and cyclopses of greek myth, most general view of of a giant is they are giant, really giant, some have fantastic powers, others do not, if you make a giant an admin will list that kind of giant here
Automaton Automatons are like robots but are more highly developed than ordinary machines. They have intricate circuitry in them which makes them hard to fix. Some Automatons have human souls in them, Automatons dont need to look like a human, they have these powers Able to withstand normal attacks. Able to deflect arrows. Have massive strength and endurance.
Álfar Álfar also known as elves, come in a few shades of being, from light, dark, black and half, half is the simplest, they are great warriors, faster, stronger then your run of the mill human, live longer and have this aura of power to them a light elf, Ljósálfr is a shining semidivine nature being, able to change their size from tiny to human size, they are pretty like few, playful, helpful if you blot to them, not all that useful due to their nature but feed them and know how to use them and you are hard to find better spies or farm help, sadly near no one knows how to use them anymore.
dark elf, døckálfar looks like black skinned elves (picture a lord of the rings elf but make the skin as black as night itself) they are master craftsmen, belives honor is the most important thing in the universe, hard to get to know, a norse person hearing something is døckálfar made will see it as master crafted and a sign that a person has done something really big, the demigod apartments in new hope is all døckálfar made, and just to show how good they are at crafting, the apartments have magic weaved in to them that kills anyone that tries to sneak in, magic that can sense if you have a hostile nature to the owner.
black elves, Svartálfar, this is what you get when a elf and a dwarf has a kid, they have traits of both parents and are often more fair then the dark elves but is called black elves due to the fact most if not all are blacksmiths and well sot makes them look darker, not as pretty as an elf, not as hairy as a dwarf, the middle ground
dvergr dvergr or as they are more known as dwarves ) is a being that dwells in mountains and in the earth, and is associated with wisdom, smithing, mining, and crafting. dwarves are nature spirits that unlike their elven counterpart is more earthy, expert smiths and the norse cyclopes (just small and with two eyes and lots and lots of hair)
Vættir Vættir are the norse field nymphs, they come in two flavors, normal vættir and Landvættir a Landvættir is bound to a place and if bloted to will help fields grow, will protect your crops and make elves help your farm and so on, a normal vættir is bound to a family, same function but is mobile while a Landvættir is bound to something like a rock
Vörðr Vörðr norse demigod only, protective spirits, can somewhat be felt by magic sensors but more like a ghost or an echo of an itch rather then something concrete, can show themself if needed, they try to protect their charges
Valkyrie Valkyries, kick ass female guides of fallen warriors, serves Odin, believed to be virgins...they are most of the time really really not virgins, think hunters of artemis but able to fall in love, and hunt down good warriors worthy of vallhalla rather than monster, Odin has allowed some valkyries to follow Baldr love, these act more like hunters and hunt monsters, but are allowed to fall in love
Einherjar Einherjar, lone fighters, fallen warriors, worthy of valhalla, some are working in new hope or camp valhalla as teachers, no Einherjar is a student
Draugr Draugr norse zombie warriors, dont eat you but will kill you and they are undead, mindless, used as means of learning to fight, deadly fighting
