Let's get a collection of the Dumbest laws in the world! If listing a law please give the state or country its in and the city if it's a city ordinance. I'll start off with two: -California- -It is Illegal to beat your wife with a strap wider than 3" without first getting permission in LA -Sunshine is garunteed to the masses |

Wouldn't this cause some flame wars as some people might think certain laws are stupid and unnecessary while others may say they're absolutely needed for the good of mankind? |

Yes, and no. Certain laws yes but im looking for the ones that are just straight out retarded, (like if there was a law in Canada that said it is illegal to stare at a Moose.) Then again this is all for fun, so hopefully no spamming happens. |

If that be the case... In Virginia (my home state), it is illegal to spit at sea gulls In Denver, Colorado, it is illegal to mistreat rats and drive black cars on Sunday In West Virginia (where I live now), it is illegal to burn your trash before 5:30 pm. I live in Texas, so i looked some up for here. Turns out, when reading into some of them, the things people say are illegal and whatnot are actually just certain strange and random criteria that fit a more broad statement. For example, I saw one that said "It is illegal to sell one's eye". However, when i clicked to read the actual text, it stated that it is illegal to sell one's organs in general, and then listed several as examples, the eye being one of them. So in other words, some of these strange and funny laws aren't actually laws by themselves, they're just an example of something the law prohibits. For example, Tyrannosaurus's law that says "it is illegal to spit at seagulls" is probably just a particular case of an actual law that says something like "it is illegal to mistreat animals. Mistreating includes beating, kicking, punching, spitting at, crushing, etc." I'm not sure about all of them, but this seems to be the case for the more random and specific ones that are listed. I did see a few funny ones, though, like "When two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone." and in Dallas, "It’s illegal to possess realistic dildos." still some weird stuff! Lol that last one is a bit weird, but I'm completely serious about the Sunshine law in California. It's really weird. I'll post more weird laws in a bit. |

Here are a few more weird laws. Some of them are normal, like voter ID, but some are dumb. Also, word on the street is Hawaii is about to regulate and start licencing fire-breathing. |
