I first posted all the following on TriBlox, but that place is has been euthanised, and my topic unnoticed, so I'll repost it here: I actually wrote this on Friday night, but then Tri went down, so I saved it in notepad. So, without further delay: Protip: for a "tl;dr version", read only the green. (and red) :P So I just saw the show Head Games for the first time(the series finale, actually), and they discussed many things regarding how our perception of the world is limited by focus, can be affected by various, seemingly meaningless factors, and how it affects behavior. One point I found particularly interesting was the effects of the color red on our perceptions of people. One example was a pair of similarly-built boxers, one in red, the other in blue. Various people were asked who they'd rather fight, though the only information they were given was appearance/demeanor-- no actual skill was demonstrated. Everyone was more intimidated by the man in red, and said they'd rather fight the man in blue, mostly remarking that he didn't seem quite as tough, and would give them less of a beating, but a beating nonetheless. It did disapoint me though, that they didn't switch who was wearing which color, as maybe the dude in blue really WAS just less scary looking. Another example they demonstrated on the show was a lady on the street who first wore white, then went again in red. They found that more than three times the men looked her way, she was able to get more than twice as much money out of men collectively, and was much more likely to be helped across the street by men; actually being carried by men on several occasions. So far as I can tell from Google, similar effects are present in the subconsious minds of women, finding men in red more attractive, which is encouraging, seeing as how I almost always prefer to wear red shirts. :P |

That pinkish colour is a really shoddy choice. I had to enlarge the page, because of how bad it was against Ex.Ivion II. Also, Red doesn't have much of an effect on me, although in video games if I see someone in Black and Red armour, I tend to think of them as a knob head. |

The color red isn't in my spectrum of colors that I like, always been more of a green person myself. |

Sorry, I forgot about all the different "styles" or whatever on these forums. I copied and pasted the same dark-ish purple as I did on TriBlox. Also, I know very little about psychology, but it might have something to do with your unusual psyche, OR just the fact that it's pretty hard to notice. |

Thank god my dick is pumping red with crimson veins pulsing around the shaft and ejaculates thick, syrupy, scarlet fluids. |

Go fuck yourself. Anyways yeah, i've heard about this sort of stuff, it's pretty crazy. There's a ton of psychology stuff about these things all over the place. Even stuff about temperature making drastic impressions on people. I saw this study on youtube where these people were asked to come in for an interview, and on their way to the room they had to go in an elevator. In the elevator was a guy who was holding a drink, and asked the person to hold their drink while he did something (i don't remember what, I think he was tying his shoes or something). He had a cold drink for half of the people and some hot (not too hot) coffee for the other half. During the interview, the person was asked what they thought of the guy in the elevator. All of the people who had to hold the warm drink thought that he seemed like an ok guy, but all of the people that had been given the cold drink thought that the guy seemed creepy or rude, despite the fact that he had interacted with them in the exact same way every time, and it was an extremely brief encounter. Psychology is crazygonuts, man. But hey I'm all for this thing, cuz red is my favorite color. I need more red shirts though, my supply is running low :/ |

Too many bullet holes or laser damage? I like red, I like every color actually but then again my mind is a great maze. But that is an interesting take on the color red, my personal belief is that it is because red stands out so much that people notice it more. |
