So I'm getting a bit more comfortable with the game (and I look forward to playing with some of you soon), so I've been playing online a little bit. Something I noticed about the armor that people wear- they almost always seem to have all pieces of armor made from one monster. For example, they have a full Wroggi suit. Why is it such a norm to be completely armored by one monster type? Is this done because all pieces of the armor have similar skill attributes? I've basically been hunting what I feel like and my armor is very varying... Some Arzuros parts and some R. Ludroth parts. Should I be going after on monster again and again to make matching armor? |

you should try to always go for one full set because every piece has like +3 on a skill and when you get +10 the skill activateds so if you have +9 you get nothing but +10 you get the skill. that is why noone mixes because then you get no skills unless your very far in the game and able to make costum sets with certain skills on them. On a side note full wroggi is great because it gifs razor sharp and this makes your sharpness fall half as fast as normal |

Yeah I think it took me some time when i first started playing to realise that unless you have an overall +10 (or +15 etc) then the armor skill shave no effect. So I was just throwing together what I thought was lots of different skills. As a side note, having a full set looks much cooler

At first the monsters arent really stong enough that the skills you have acces early on will make a real difference. The best skill to use at first IMO is the "Capture guru" skill to know when the time is exactly right for capture. It can be easily gemmed in on most armors if you craft some decorations. As you progress you will need that extra something the skills bring sometimes even more than raw defense (although that is definetely important) |

I had to take a break for a little while because of school, but I finally got around to playing again. Anyways, a while back I completed a full set of armor (the Royal Ludroth set). I was pretty excited about it. Then I noticed that my fire resistance is -15. That seems like it might be a pretty big deal. Is there any way to counter that? Or do people have multiple sets of armor that they use for fighting different large monsters? And also.. How do people generally decide what set of armor they want to make next? Do y'all generally pick whatever you're feeling or do you pick something to cover the weaknesses of your first armor set (like in my example, get a fire resistant one)? |

Hello Beeftank ! Don't worry about your resistance too much. Honeslty I think I must have -20 in both Ice and fire and I still always use the same armor even when fighting agnaktors. Anyway, at G-rank evn taking one hit of the monster's big guns no matter how high your RES is, will still depletes your Hp by half so you have to focus on avoiding those big attacks and not get hit at all costs even if that mean landing less hits. Basically your RES can give you an edge if they are high but it is nothing gamebreaking and you shouldn't go out of your way to fix them if they are low. For your info i think -50 is the lowest your RES can get. In my opinion armors are all about looks and skills..both def and Res are secondary since for def you have armor stones to upgrade them and RES...who cares Bottom line is : use what you like and just avoid getting hit by the big elemental attacks ! watching the monster pattern generally gives away they are gonna use it ! |

just look for the skills you want to use that's the most important for me and if you feel your res is to low for a monster just eat for element res up before the mission dont know what combo to take for every res but you can find them online i think let me know if you want to hunt this weekend. |
