(A Note from AlbieGray. This episode of HF: A New Beginning will be a special July 4th Episode where the Harper family will be celebrating the 4th of July together with their friends. Hope you enjoy it. Today's one scene episode takes place in Boston. ALBIE)

Scene: The Atchley Mansion in the Fens of Boston. The Harpers have been invited to a 4th of July shindig at Craig's mansion, thanks to Hannah. Most of the Harpers (excepting Rosemary, who is still in the Hospital; and Erica, who is still banished from the family and family functions) have come slowly but surely. Hannah is sitting on her balcony, as she waits for her family to come. Craig comes in, bringing her daughter, Maggie, who is dressed in her red, white and blue playclothes.

CRAIG: Are you looking forward to this?
HANNAH: I am indeed. Have you heard from the family?
CRAIG: They should be coming.
(The doorbell rings. Mrs. Buxley, the Atchley housekeeper, goes to the door.)
HANNAH: Sounds like my brother, and his spouse are here.
(Cut to the front foyer, Dylan and Alex are in.)
DYLAN: Hey, Hannah, how are you?
HANNAH: Doing good, hon. You look marvelous, and both of you look festive!
ALEX: It's the 4th, what can one expect?
HANNAH: You've taken to being a citizen, Alex. I am so pleased.
ALEX: Thanks, Hannah.
DYLAN: Sheila and Allen are coming, and they are bringing a caravan.
HANNAH: How about Dad?
ALEX: Actually, Dr. Lowndes told him to come for the day. Rosemary is doing wonderfully, and things are looking promising. He said that he would call Dad if anything comes up.
HANNAH (relieved): That is good.
(The doorbell rings, it is Aunt Patricia and Caitlin. They too have been invited.)
PATRICIA: We come bearing meat!
CAITLIN: Lots of it!
(Hannah smiles)
DYLAN: Let me help you, Aunt Patricia.
MRS. BUXLEY: I have the kitchen staff taking care of it, Dylan.
DYLAN: Ok.
PATRICIA: You were sweet to think of that, though.
(One of the kitchen staff members come in to wheel the meat to the well appointed Atchley kitchen)
CRAIG: Mrs. Buxley, I want you to tell Cook to take the day off. We'll deal with the meat. I talked with Michael, and he says he is a very good barbecue cook.
MRS. BUXLEY: Very good. Would you mind if Cook stayed as a consultant?
CRAIG: That is fine.
MRS. BUXLEY: Cook, you are needed as a consultant.
(The doorbell rings.)
HANNAH: Daddy! Wendy! You're here.
MICHAEL: I said we would be.
WENDY: This is a LOVELY mansion, Mr. Atchley.
(Also with them, were Vivienne and Eric)
DYLAN: Nice to see you, Viv, and you too, Eric.
VIVIENNE: We're going to be family here soon. A good time for us to bond.
(Right behind them, comes Sheila, Allen and the rest of the Haller family.)
VICTORIA: Do you have someone to help with this potato salad?
SHEILA: Yeah, we made enough for an army.
ALLEN: Sheila and Anyssa took all of last night to make it.
ALEX: Where is Anyssa, Bryan and Audra?
(Behind Sheila comes Anyssa, Audra and Bryan.)
AUDRA: We came right behind Sheila, but we had to stop off at the Shop-Rite and pick up some more chips.
BRYAN: Compared how we eat, guys.
(Also coming was Michelle and Sydney.)
MICHELLE: Sydney and I thought it would be good to take a break.
MICHAEL: What about Astrid?
SYDNEY: She and Amy went to a 4th celebration at a friend's house in Andover.
CRAIG: Well, we're all here. Except Rosemary and Erica.
PATRICIA: Rosemary we miss, Erica we don't.
CAITLIN: Mom, let's not think about Erica. She brought it all on herself!
MICHAEL: She's right, Aunt Patricia. Today's family, and we're almost all here. Rosemary is still in the hospital.
PATRICIA: How is she?
WENDY: She is fine.
CRAIG: Come on, everyone, let's go to the patio area. There are swim suits for those who want to swim.

(Cut to: the large patio area in the back of the Atchley mansion. There is a huge olympic sized swimming pool, which Alex, Dylan, Sheila and Audra are enjoying a swim; Anyssa and Bryan are sipping drinks at pool side. Michael and Wendy are lost in one another. Jacqueline is helping Hannah with the babies. Michael and the Atchley cook are working with the gas grill that Craig bought.)

SHEILA: You should get a swim in, Allen. The water is fine.
ALLEN: I will later, Love.
JACQUELINE: We're having the most fun of all.
(Jacqueline is with Hannah watching the babies splash around in their little baby pool)
PATRICIA: That is so cute.
(Nicky and Maggie are splashing around happily)
CAITLIN: I wonder, though, Mom.
PATRICIA: About what, honey?
CAITLIN: Did you hear from Kip?
PATRICIA: Kip went out of town on business in California. He called me last night.
CAITLIN: Ok. Marcia told me she is watching the house down there.
PATRICIA: I talked with Roger and he is coming here in a while.
(The doorbell rings. Mrs. Buxley goes to the door. It is indeed Roger, Caitlin's older brother. He will be played by James Wlcek in the show.)
ROGER: Hey, Mom. Caitie.
PATRICIA: Roger! Oh, my darling.
CAITLIN: Who came up with this one?
ROGER: I wasn't sure what to do, but Dylan had talked with me and told me that I should be around the family more. Mark went to London to spend time there.
PATRICIA: Thank you, Dylan, my darling.
DYLAN: You taught us about family, Aunt Patricia. Just only did what you have always taught us.
(A few hours later, everyone is out of the pool. Michael dings his glass to get the family's attention.)
MICHAEL: This is something we've always done. Except this year, we're at the Atchley mansion, since Craig has become part of our family. Thank you, Craig. (Craig nods and smiles) Today, the day of this country's independence, we show that our family really HAS a lot of facets. Dylan's wonderful spouse, Alex, a British-American, brings that bond to us. I am so glad that we have our family together today. Rosemary is still in the hospital, but she is getting a lot better, and she and Mark will be with us again soon. And all those who aren't with us, we are always thinking of them, no matter what. We also have some others coming INTO the family. My fiancee, Wendy Schraederman; her sister, Vivienne and Wendy's son, Eric. I know they are a bright spot for this family, but always, the heart and soul of the family will be Aunt Patricia.
(Patricia comes up to speak.)
PATRICIA: Thank you, darling. Everyone, this is our usual family barbeque, a tradition that was begun with Richard's father, Preston Harper. Although we're not at the Harper Estate, this is as good, because no matter what, we're still together, and family is family. We STICK together. And I thank heaven every day of my life, for my family. Now.....as Violet always said, let's skip the speeches and eat!

(The family laughs and they get themselves ready to enjoy the food and festivities. Later on, from the back part of the mansion, they enjoy the fireworks that were seen from the bay. It was a wonderful day.)

Tomorrow: HF: A New Beginning goes back to normal.
