I took a look at a friends copy last night, a few things have changed, such as wound allocation, you now hav to remove the closest models to the attacking unit. it looks interesting but i'll be waiting for the boxed set in sep.

I plan to get the 6th-Ed rules today assuming that it hasn't been sold due to my overly long absence in picking it up. I had a look at my old rule book I bought when I started. I can't believe it was only a 3rd Ed.

Most people would be upset with this apparently new wound allocation, but I feel good to think that people are finally using common sense on the little things. When I played against a mate's Tau I lost more than once where he used to take woulds on the fire warriors out of LoS of my warriors and termagaunts.

Today I shall have a good read and then maybe dust off my Raven Guard to give to my little boy if I can get into the attic.

Well this is it!!!! Taking home Assault On Black Reach tonight as a starting point. I know it won't have the 6th edition rules in it but will work up to that. Thanks to a couple of guys I have itchy fingers and want to get going.

whey go two cats go two cats!

seriously warhammer is a good set of rules and obviously games workshop produce some beautiful miniatures.

sorry I haven't popped up yet work has been hectic the last 2 weeks but should start to ease off so I'll be up after work one day this week.

I played my first 6th ed game with some pals Thursday night and I must say it is awesome!

we had a 3-way CSM vs Necrons vs Tau and ended with a Necron victory. love the rules so far.

I have now set up a 6x4 board which I am going to sand and paint this week then start making some scenery with a foam cutter which is on the way. the new rules are tipping the scales in favour of 40k at the moment hence me making a game board!

Had a quick skim through the rules, the new ruling on casualties from shooting is a big improvement, no more Rambo at the front duds at the back.

Must admit I opened the box, had a look at the book marked "read this first" and then put the lid back on - all those small pieces to paint and really don't know where to start! I immediately thought about coming up the club tomorrow evening with box and paints etc for a bit of friendly advice but can't as tiara making for Wednesday evening prom. Will take box back to work and hope someone comes in, takes pity on me and starts me on my way.

I will be closing at 4pm on Wednesday as have hair and make-up etc on two teenagers to sort out and limo is arriving at 6.15. Hopefully once Thursday arrives I can settle down to sorting out the space marines.

have you decided on a space marine chapter yet?

I have had some marines come my way recently and thinking of doing some ultramarines or maybe imperial fists.

Raven Guard is an easy chapter to paint, Black armor with white trim and helmets. But then again, I bias as they are my SM chapter.

Jackie,

hope you enjoyed the game tonight. I know it can be daunting but the rules aren't so bad and you will get it don't worry. post up ANY questions you have so we can get them ironed out for you.

also I haven't taught someone with no experience at all so apologies if I went too fast or didn't let you do enough etc.
