Like we have on the WHFB forum, i thought id put up a rules discussions thread. This is so that if at any time in a game something comes up and is unclear, it can be posted here after to clear it up, also anything interesting you have found can be put here.

I have read the 40K FAQ today and so can confirm the following rules;

Flying Monsterous Creatures have the Skyfire rule when swooping

Psychic attacks can target flyers. Attacks that auto hit still auto hit flyers, malendiction attacks need to roll to hit. And so for example a sorcerer would require a 6 to hit with a malendiction attack, where as a FMC using malendiction can skyfire and therefor hit on his normal ballistic skill.

Beams, Novas and any form of template weapon cannot hit flyers.

Fearless models which go to ground, automatically ignore the effects of going to ground on their subsequent turn. <--- This one is making me think of gunline plague marines behind an aegis. Go to ground every turn they are shot for like a 2+ invuln then next turn they can automatically move shoot and assault as normal lol.

Flying Monsterous Creatures arriving by deepstrike will arrive in swoop mode.

Eternal Warriors with Feel No Pain are not granted FNP for attacks which cause instant death (despite having EW)

If the enemy vehicle being assaulted suffers a wrecked or explosion the attacker may NOT make a consolidation move

Flyers must start in reserve and cannot be deployed in hover mode with the rest of the army.

As i said this is just some stuff that has come up for me in recent games, but anything you need answering here you can post and we'll all come to an agreement or anything you wanna discuss/confirm from a recent game post it up.

Fluff wise both have anti-grav engines. Crunch wise, Skimmer is a vehicle type and jetbike is an infantry type.

Just a quick question for you space marine bods out there. In 6th edition space marine codex are tactical squads made up of 7 bolters, 2 special weapons and a Sgt?
And are grav weapons any good?
Any input would be appreciated.

No it is made up of 4 marines and 1 sgt then you can add another 5 marines into that.

If the squad is of 9 member or less 1 marine may take a heavy or special weapon

If the squad numbers 10 men 1 marine may take a heavy weapon and another marine may take a special weapon.

so you can choose to just take 9 bolter marines and a sgt if you wished

Grav weapons are great against stuff with a 2+ or 3+ armour save. using then against more than that is a bit of a waste.

You making a Space Marine army? or a detachment? What am I against on Monday, solely guard or allies?

At the moment I'm just fielding IG, the marines are just a small detachment at the moment.
In the new tactical box is the only heavy weapon a rocket launcher?
