The Diet we follow is basically this:

Low carb, not No Carb as with Atkin’s. You do need a few carbs for energy. See the Top 10 Mycotoxic Foods list (posted in the Diets Forum http://w11.zetaboards.com/Health_411/topic/902777/1/#new ) These are all off the list for quite some time, and you can see why.

(Underlined foods are the ones to focus on.)

Getting Started:
We Limit * dairy to heavy cream, sour cream, real butter, plain yogurt and cream cheese. Preferably from organic, grass-fed cows or goats. Just do the best you can do. Dairy causes mucus to form in the body, thus reducing the healing of the body. I switched to Almond Milk during the first few weeks and limited the dairy choices to a bare minimum.

* Eggs are OK. (Beginning Jan ‘06 all chickens must be anti-biotic and hormone free. Although I'm now reading that they inject the eggs to get around this law.) According to studies, people who eat 6 or more eggs per week have lower cholesterol than those who eat 2 or fewer. (www.natren.com) I buy Free-Range eggs as my best nutritional source. Many towns have locally produced eggs.

* Most fresh, unblemished vegetables are fine with the exception of high carb beans, peas and large squash such as Acorn and Spaghetti squash and pumpkin. No potatoes as they are very high starch (carb). Vegetable juice is allowed. Fresh is better. Black olives are allowed, not in vinegar. Green Beans are allowed on Phase 1.

* Fruits are confined to fresh or frozen berries, fresh unsweetened coconut, avocado, grapefruit, lemons, limes and green apples. These are all low in sugar. I wash all produce in orange oil. * No dried fruits or fruit juices.

* As discussed earlier and for the same reasons, meats should be Free-range and grass fed. (Wild fish) Yes, they are higher in price, but when you get fewer and fewer doctor visits, you will understand the concept. Sausages, bacon, and ham products which are not cured with sugar (good luck with that.) are OK.

* Absolutely NO GRAINS! Which includes corn. Watch out too, for corn starch and corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is worse.

* Beverages: No sodas, no black tea or coffee and no chocolate as they are high in toxins caused by the fermentation or oxidation of the product. Herbal teas are fine. We drink Green Tea in place of black tea and like it much better. It is faster to brew using only steamed water, no boiling. We look for teas made with non-fruity bases. There are many options.

* Sweeteners We use Stevia. Birch bark Xylitol is OK. No artificial sweeteners. Honey is OK in small amounts.

* Be aware of vinegars. Vinegar is alcohol gone "bad." The one exception is apple cider vinegar which contains malic acid, deadly to fungi.

* Nuts & Seeds, except peanuts, soy nuts and pistachios. Look for raw nuts or nuts not roasted in peanut or soy oils.

* Oils to use are olive, flaxseed, & Coconut oil from fresh coconuts (I like Tropical Traditions). All oils should be cold-pressed and virgin. (www.coconutdiet.com)

This phase lasts at least 2 weeks. It is used to self-diagnose a condition. If this program helps your symptoms you can be assured that your condition is fungally related. (See Fungal Questionnaire on this site. http://z11.invisionfree.com/Health_411/ind...?showtopic=1780)

We began adding a few items from Phase 2 at this point and watched to see how our bodies reacted.

Many people stay on Phase One for weeks, some for years. It all depends upon your specific "thumbprint."

Adding OTC anti-fungals will speed things up a bit. Sometimes we had to back off of them if we had too much Herxheimer's Reaction. This is where you have pain or aches due to fungal die-off. (see "anti fungals" thread in the "Fungal & Cancer Issues" Topic.) Anti-fungals are supposed to be rotated on a by-weekly basis. Garlic, Apple Cider Vinegar, Neem, Olive Leaf Extract, Caprylic Acid, Oil of Oregano, Iodine. Iodine does not need to be rotated as well as Apple Cider Vinegar. (See article on using ACV.) The others I generally take in capsule form. 1 per meal the first week, 2 per meal the 2nd week.

Olive Leaf is the least offensive for most people and I started with it first. Next would be Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic, Iodine, Neem, Oil of Oregano and last Caprylic Acid. When Caprylic Acid no longer affects me, I know I'm clean of toxins.

Also I added a source of fiber to help promote faster elimination of toxins from the body. Some use psyllium, some flax meal. Oat bran can work also. Taking Epsom Salt baths can also help. I now take Magnesium Citrate every day.

Exercising is important in the elimination of toxins too! So, I work some exercise into my day. Start slow. The old saying, "no pain, no gain" is w-r-o-n-g!
