Here I go again. This time I'm serious!! I need to lose about 10 pounds!!
This time DH will be doing it with me, that helps a lot! Kids don't look forward to it as I make them prepare a lot of their own carb-y delights. But at least most everything is Phase 3!! :D

I try to eat any carbs in the A.M. so I can work them off during the day. Generally eggs with a tortilla (I make my own) for breakfast. Phase 1 for lunch and dinner and work out 4X a week. It really doesn't take me long to start losing pounds. I'll post updates here...

Today
*sigh* :saywhat?: I'm currently at 155. My goal is around 145 (pounds). I'm 5'9". I want to get into my size 6's again. I get worried when I can see a second butt cheek starting!! :ohno!: And a little pugde just above my knees. These are the two places which get my attention first!! :ick:

Since you're doing tortillas, are you really doing Phase 2? Or do you do Phase 2 for breakfast and Phase 1 for lunch and dinner?

I started with Phase 1 on Sunday and it's rough getting back into the swing of things. I boiled a batch of eggs, roasted six pieces of chicken, made some butternut squash/apple soup, prepared a large green salad bowl to scoop from all week. Think I'll do turkey rollups for lunch today. My veg smoothie is my breakfast every morning.

Do you plan ahead your meals and if so, how far ahead? I'm trying to plan ahead. I need to get into my recipes and get some variety! Seems like I eat the same meals all the time. Think I'll make some salsa meatballs today. Good fingerfood! I did buy a spaghetti squash so I may make that spaghetti squash casserole.

Anyhow, that's my status! Also increasing my water and salt.

I even stopped coffee! But two days of tea was too hard so today I got out the Yerbamate! YUM. I will be SO GLAD with liquid stevia comes in hazelnut flavor! But the Yerbamate is much more satisfying than tea. But I'll still alternate with the tea.

My biggest challenge seems to be that most of what I eat doesn't satisfy me. I'm eating all the right stuff, but I never feel satisfied. You know that "Ah, that was great!" feeling? Not stuffed, just satisfied.

Tally ho!

Hi, I'm back to some phase  , I made mexican chicken tortilla soup over the weekend (without tortillas for me) and I think it's safe - chicken stock, chicken broth, beef broth, chicken breast, zucchini, rotel tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices - cumin, chile powder, sea salt, pepper. Then, when it's done, I add diced avocado, lemon juice and monterrey jack cheese to my bowl and sometimes brown rice. Yum! I also made homemade yogurt with half being cream instead of milk. Do you think that's OK? It sure was good and I mixed it with stevia and frozen blueberries. For supper, we've had steaks, salad, zucchini and squash one night, and grilled pork chops, green beans, broccoli, fresh mozzerella and tomato salad (Is balsamic vinegar safe, or should I use ACV? - I don't know how that would taste) . Thank goodness my husband decided to do a sort of low carb diet and is willing to make this kind of stuff.

I've had soup for breakfast the last 2 days and before that salad and soup. I got some more Almond milk and some Ezekiel golden flax cereal that I have once or twice a week.

Are tomatoes bad for this diet? Because I eat alot of them and eat tomato soup fairly often. They don't seem to bother me or cause symptoms.

I got some more Lugols and have started P 73 oreganol - boy it's strong! My sweet aunt sent me a bottle. I guess I'm starting to get used to it. At first, I couldn't hardly stand it to be in my mouth. Does anyone seem to have different reactions to oil of oregano when they take it? Once, it almost made me nauseated, but other times, it isn't hard to tolerate.

Anything else I should be doing while on the diet, oil of oregano and Lugols?

Should I take the oil of oregano for about 2 weeks and then switch to something else?

Hi HB, I wish I only had 10 pounds to lose! - I still have around 30 or more to go. It is very hard for me to lose weight lately. I'm going to start trying to go back to the gym while work is slower. Selah, that's good that you made a bunch of food ahead. I need to do that more.

Balsamic vinegar - uuuhh, no! ACV is the only "approved" vinegar on Doug's plan. Also grains are off Phase 1 completely, so no Ezekiel cereal either. The grains are moldy unless you can find a pure source.
The tortillas I make are with flour I order in from Montana where they have no mold problems. It is the only kind which doesn't make my fingers swell.

Heavy cream with berries is also good with a squirt of lemon and several small scoops of stevia. But if you are not active the dead (enzymes are dead) ultra pasteurized hevay cream, will put weight on!! So, watch that! I can't wait to have raw milk and cream!!

Yes, I switch anti-fungals every 2 weeks. Oil of oregano IS strong! But the P-73 is nothing compared to the Vitality Works brand which I carry. It is 4X as strong. Try the drop under your tongue. It shouldn't burn as badly. On the tongue is hot! I got up to 4 drops at a time with the P-73. I can't handle even one of the VW under my tongue!! So, I take the capsules and use 1 drop on my toothbrush when I brush! I love the smell!! I used to like the P-73 smell better, now I like the VW! I guess it is what you get used to.

OK, Off to my first day of Phase 1 with an egg and my one and only tortilla!! <_<

If you are active you may need a few carbs to get the energy you need to make it through the day. I decided to take my carb in the A.M. so I am sure it will be worked off by evening. OK, so I'm doing Phase 1-2. But I will try to do Phase 1 for lunch and dinner. 1 tortilla will not derail me! :D :D :D

If you bake, and have a Better Homes & Garden's cookbook, you can bake the Irish Soda Bread in there, that's Phase 2. As are biscuits, waffels, pancakes, and other non-yeasted breads. Basically, non-yeasted breads - 1 serving per day until almost no symptoms then move to several servings per day. Depending on your energy levels too. I have posted most of them on the recipes section - tweaked for us!! :D

If you have been drinking a lot of coffee or other caffeine laden drinks, you may need to ween off so you don't get headaches. Just a thought! ;)

Well, I've already splurged a bit. I had 2 1/2 tortillas yesterday instead of 1. But when I was making a new batch last night they were so fresh and hot I had to have one!! ;) I've not had one, yet, today. I did get very sleepy last evening around 8 p.m. The tortilla helped that!
