My computer has taken to "running" constantly, even when it is not in use, not on the web, no programs open, or running. It has't always done that. The little red light on front keeps blinking and I hear a whirring noise like it's really busy when it isn't. Can anyone tell me why this happens? Does it have a problem that needs fixing? Thanks.

Virus!! You need a vrus scan. Go to Lavasoft.com Then to the tab which says "AdAware." Tab down to the AdAware 2007 Free edition and load that. That is a great place to start. Then do a scan with it once it is loaded. Remove anything it finds.

THEN go to Grisoft.com and look for tab "Products." See the link on the left margin for "Anti-Virus Free Edition." Load it, run it. Perhaps these two will help remove whatever is there.

I would then do a computer clean up and defrag.
