fermented foods; miso?

What's the deal with fermented foods? Like bean paste that makes Miso Soup. I always heard this had lots of live probiotics in it. So, that would be okay right?

Hi April,
I had miso or tempeh once I think and boy did I ever get sick. Since then, (10 years ago), I have never tried it again.
It can be good healthy lactobaccilli bacteria or they can use fungus to ferment the beans and even gmo bad bacteria to do the job cheaply..... It seems we can't trust anything any more. I'd read the labels very carefully if you try it.

My experience with fermented foods during this regimen is when I ate anything fermented I would get a reaction and my symptoms would be worse...don't know if it was die off or making things worse so I am scared to eat anything fermented except for my Natren and the greek yogurt but that I haven't eaten for awhile cause scared it will make things worse at this point so I am going to wait a few more weeks and try the yogurt again...but when I did have it I had some reaction for a little while then be ok as the day went on.... :clueless:
