Phase I; Who's in with me for round 1 again?

I'm starting tomorrow morning with the first Phase. My phase one diet is similar to the one posted on this site, but I'm more closely following the Phase I diet that my ND had me do for about three weeks last year. Which means I get a limited amount of carbs and I can have some yeast-free, dairy free bread from the health food store like Kamut, for example. I can also have some nuts too. But fruits are out.

Who is in with me? We can chat every day and log what we eat and keep each other going. Otherwise, I'm going to need a coke and a bag of chips real soon - lol.

Naes.

I have played with Phase 1 several times recently, but I just can't seem to stick with it. I stay pretty close most of the time. I mke my own tortillas every day and that keeps me going!

Anyone else????? BB?? ML??

Funny you should say that Elaine. I began Phase 1 again on Jan. 4th, full throttle, full speed ahead and now I'm feeling like why bother. Weird eh?

I know I had some motivation here somewhere, just can't recall where I lost it!!!

Funny you should ask.....:ROFL2: :ROFL2: :ROFL2:

I"m starting my 5th week of no glutens which is pretty close to phase I. Breakfast is cashew butter on granny smith apple slices. I've put eggs back into my eating because I"m so limited now with the celiac thing. But, I noticed for the first time in a long time that after cheating on Val. day I had no die off with raw garlic and onions. So, this celiac thing seems to be working.

I'm so excited to be better!! I can't wait to get outside and really do some exercising because I'm feeling energy come back to my body that was long gone.

I have been back and forth. I feel I have to do phase 1 with no more than 1-2 small servings of simple carbs...the 2 things I have are tortilla (as of now flour store bought...yes :ohno!: sorry guys) and brown rice pasta. I bought basmti rice sp? but not sure if I can have that. I am thinking of doing a borderline liver cleansing diet not sure with that...but for now just eating the right foods for those phases. I upped my probiotics and downed/close to eliminating my antifungals, mostly the food kind. Just listen to your body. My body can't handle a lot of foods and supps. at once put into me. I have to take it really slow, but the problem with me I want it healed yesterday. This is the only thing I don't have patience in. :yeahright: . I do see progress so do the best you can

Hey BB,
Hang in there!!! IT is a struggle but well worth it!! I may have to stay away from anything gluten for the rest of my life to be well but I'm just so excited that I finally found something that WORKS and permanent!! No more bloat and gas and pains here and there.... amazing. I feel like I could walk miles without any problem. :happyrun:

I've killed off the fungus and will detox heavy metals the rest of my life but I'm starting my 3rd year doing that too!! I'm just so happy that my body is not too old to still bounce back!! :dance2:

Well, I'm glad that Phase One has encouraged many to chitty chat. :spinlol:

This morning I had oatmeal and I didn't eat it all so I can have a handful of another carb later if I choose. Couldn't gag the whole bowlful down - but I remember being like this with plain veggies last year when I first tried the diet.

Of course I'm drinking water, but could use more.

For lunch I did a grab-and-run and so I had walnuts and carrots.

And now I'm having a cup of green tea.

Tonight my husband has pork tenderloin on the menu so I will have that with a bunch of veggies and/or salad on the side.

The evening is the real killer for me though - that will be my challenge. But tomorrow I'll go out and get legal snacks like rice cakes - ooooooh yummmmy to help me deal with that!

So Day 1 is going okay so far!

Naes.

LOL at the cheerleading team.

Well yes, I do know that I can spread almond butter on my rice cakes! How did you know my little secret? Oh, I think I learned this one from my friends here ages ago.

Tonight, with no rice cakes in the house, I may resort to a tablespoon of almond butter. :snickerlol:

RICE CAKES????? I don't think they are Phase 1 !!! Some 'flavors' have added sugars too.

I'd rather eat Styrofoam!!! :ick:

Lots of snack ideas somewhere around here. Green apples with almond butter is my favorite! And the almond butter fiber balls!

Actually rice is not Phase 1. But if that is all you have to work with.. well.... As Dr. Dave says, you have to live in the real world. Don't freak out too much. I would actually prefer celery with cream cheese, but I really don't even like celery!! :twitch:

Lannie has an article around somewhere which shows that processed puffed cereal is actualy only fiber. No nutritional benefit at all.

Hey naes.. check the snack section... :D :yahoo:  :apple: :veggiechef:
Maybe you can find some new things to try!

Nah, I live in the real world ... unfortunately .... for now! Like I've said before, I'm about 90% on track 'most' of the time ... the rest is treats!

BUT, we want to keep folks on track as much as possible right?? ;)

But I'm bored with the fare and need to get creative! Time to crack open the cookbooks!!

I'm going to begin going thru the veggie 'side' dishes on that site and tweaking them as needed ....

Breakfast: Oatmeal - gak!

Lunch: Beet and pork rolled up in a Kamut wrap(yeast free, dairy free).

Dinner: Turkey or chicken sausages (not sure which meat) gluten free and organic, romaine with orange peppers and apple cider vinegar and olive oil and corn.

Gag, gag, gag.

Hey on Oprah today, Dr. Oz challenged everyone to give up soda drinks for two weeks because of the sugar.

Drinks: water, green tea and perrier water.

Naes.
