BB to add healthy weight eat some nuts or nut butter. I like walnuts, pecans and almonds. Heavy cream willl pack on the pounds too so take it easy with that! Yesterday - eggs for breakfast in a hurry Lunch - Fellowship meal I had some green beans with potatoes and some baked chicken. Who knows what else was in those!! Dinner - Cream of chicken soup with green beans and carrots Today Breakfast - eggs Lunch - salad (yea me!!) with black olives, chopped boiled egg and walnuts, a dahs of Himalayan pink salt and olive oil as dressing. My cheat snack was 4 pieces of melba toast. Dinner - I'm making Lannie's Meat & Veggie KooKoo. Looks good. I replaced the fresh tomatoes (since I'm out) with 3 Tbsp. tomato paste and replaced the brocolli with asparagus. |

I'm joining you all today. I like that you are all sharing what you eat! I always wonder what everyone else eats! Naes.... I've missed somewhere why you can't eat anything you need to chew? Are you on phase 1? You can have Maple syrup? I'm not getting on to you.... just wondering. I have no room to talk.. I had sweet potato with agave nectar for breakfast. Anyway... I'll start with yesterday. Breakfast: Taco meat with green leaf lettuce, salsa and spoonful of plain yogurt. With about 1/4 cup of organic refried beans. (This was left over from supper... I've gotten to where I can eat anything for breakfast. LOL) Lunch: Hamburger on lettuce... with organic mustard, a bit of mayo and regular ketchup. (then I was still hungry sooooo... I had 2 slices of sandwich meat, (the kind with no preservatives or added junk), with cream cheese spread inside and a tad of salsa. I rolled these up) Supper: 1 pork chop, 1/2 cup of cooked cabbage, 1/2 cup of pinto beans Dessert: 1 cup of frozen mixed berries with 1 Tbl. of plain yogurt with stevia. |

Personally, CB, with what you are dealing with....I'd do Phase 1, no sweet potatoes, no beans, no agave for a week and see how that works. You can see the whole list on Beginning Phase Diet on this section. It is pinned (Sticky). I am trying so hard to stick to Phase 1!!! I have a tiny cheat each day. But my cycle started which makes me swell a bit so I didn't weigh this morning. However. I've already lost 3 pounds this week!

Yes, I'm going to start with phase 1 tomorrow. We've got a church function tonight and we are having chili... so I'll be having beans. I'll start fresh tomorrow. So no rice either right? on phase 1? No brown rice and no spelt? I haven't been washing my frozen berrries in anything but water. So I should clean those in something stronger? |

Oh I forgot to add my mixed nuts for snack.walnuts, cashews, almonds, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, and sunflower seeds. I could add my dried coconut..duh..haha Today I went out shopping so had to eat on the run at the mall so I had half of my chinese sp? there and just had the rest at 3pm. I had FR, general tos, and chix/broccoli. Later will have my salad..with mixed greens (the kind with riddico sp?), romaine, red onion, carrots, sprouted mug beans and sprouted onion. Then probably a snack later on in the evening which is usually the same mashed avocado and salsa with a toasted tortilla. Then probably mixed nuts. I did buy hummus so maybe that with celery and carrots. If I am really hungry maybe some fish..been eating to much hamburger...ahh my fav. though...Jeff always laughs at me when he asks me what I ate today guess it is usually a burger. Am I the only one that eats avocado everyday. Haha..the only time I don't eat them is when I run out. They are just hold be good with hunger and good fat in it. |

If your congregation has dinners and luncheons often, just count that as a cheat day. Watch what you eat and possibly record body responses to what you eat. (Start a food journal.) The cleaner you get, the faster you will notice negative effects of things you eat, even unknowingly. Eventually you will see patterns emerge and you can avoid the ones which bother you a lot. I wash produce in ACV or orange oil. I used GSE for a while, now I won't touch the stuff after Lannie's research on that!! Hydrogen peroxide works too! All of these are safe. Yes, Phase 1 no grains, which includes corn. All grains will feed fungus. So...BB - dried fruits are out b/c they can get moldy during the drying process. The companies don't seem to care of they put moldy ones in the bag too. I had a small relapse last year after eaing sun dried tomatoes. Apparently harboring mold. Today Breakfast - 2 eggs Lunch - salad which was GREAT! at Panera. I requested no dressing and got olive oil instead. Dinner - left over KooKoo. I know I will have to eat again, b/c I'm not full and that will wear off fast. I will probably have another salad. |

Hi everyone and welcome chellebob! Glad to have more company on the eating journey. I have been on a no chew diet, I'm half way through and have one more week to go. I have very sore muscles around my jaw joints and this is supposed to be a part of making my sore muscles better - strangely enough it's not working! The ironic part is that wearing my mouth guard day and night, minimal talking and a no chew (mostly anyways) diet is actually making me worse. I ended up on the couch and in bed and on a new painkiller today. I haven't been like this since last fall. Now I'm in more pain after I see an oral surgeon who tells me how to work on trying to eliminate all pain and I end up worse off. Maybe it's because my diet sucks like this, I also had an MRI where they strapped my forehead to the table a few days ago and I have never found them painful but I think it triggered pain in my face and head etc again because I had to press the emerg button when I was in the machine I was in sooooo much pain - I think it was the forehead strap pushng the back of my head against the hard table I was lying on. Then when I was out for a nature walk today, all of a sudden I felt odd and then weak and then my face pain came on really bad. So my diet is very all over the place because I began doing the Phase 1 diet that is similar to the diet posted here but I follow one that my ND gave me last year. And it does include maple syrup, don't know why but I went to a maple syrup place and got the real stuff from the tree today and it was still warm in the bottle. But I've had to veer from it to do the no chew diet - and unfortunately I can't eat dairy or wheat so it's a challenge. So I can't wait to get back on the wagon but continue logging my diet anyways. HB - do you have any thoughts on my pain? Was it the nature walk? Was it the strap holding down my head on the MRI table? I don't get it. I am going to take baths with epsom salts, my ND wants me to take those to absorb the magnesium when I'm in pain. I'm thinking it was the d**n MRI - that's my first recollection of pain during this so when I go back to the oral surgeon in a couple weeks I'm going to have to tell him about it - stupid machine!B: Vanilla protein shake L: 2 fried eggs (olive oil) D: Organic chicken sausages - took skin off and ate meat inside which was pretty crumbly. If I can I will make a veggie drink tonight. Naes. |

I think the MRI contribute to the pain. How long have you had the TMJ problem. I think it takes a few weeks. I will ask my sister she works for a dentist..i use to but can't remember for sure. HB....stop bumming me out..haha... Well I will finish what I have. I don't think it is doing anything to me but you never know. Maybe I could sprinkle xylitol on my next mix to give it some sweetness like one of your recipes...or I will make that bar thingy. |

Xylitol has been giving us fits. Lots of potty breaks! Take it slow!!Naes, have you been to massage therapy or a chiropractor? Perhaps tight muscles in the neck or upper back are to blame. When my shoulder gets really tight my ear starts ringing. Sorry for bumming! Not trying to, just a head's up!

Thanks soooo much for your replies. I think it was the MRI that triggered my pain but I broke it by taking my prescription pain medication last night twice and I woke up feeling much better this morning, and I have my period today. So I think my period also made me more susceptable to my pain being triggered - it's happened to me in the past and some other women I know with chronic pain are more apt to feel their pains during more hormonal times like ovulation and before or during a period. So I think I got my answer there too. I'm me again today but I have to see how I feel at the end of the day when I'm more tired and cross my fingers, I hope that I am pain free tonight. Oh and about the chiro and massage stuff - my GP and ND have both said that I should stay away from any kind of manipulation to my body, such as massage, chiro or osteopath techniques, as intensive touch has triggered my pain in the past. I like to be touched etc. but hours after a pedicure, for example, I had tremendous pain in my feet and had to talk a narcotic to break it. Would love a massage though. I think I'll put that on my list: One day be healthy enough to get a massage and enjoy it without feeling pain that same evening! Yes, I will add that to my wish list. Thanks girlfriends!

It hasn't been confirmed whether or not it's TMJ. I'm on my fourth doctor for this. So will have to wait and see if it is or isn't. I'm patient. I don't have a diagnosis for my other chronic pain and neuro issues which look like they are getting slowly better. My jaw muscles may get better too before anyone figures me out. I walk around with a big question mark when I see doctors. But this is my journey and I'm ready for a new one. Naes. |

Wow Naes.. I've never heard of that sort of chronic pain where a massage would bring on pain. No one has any idea what causes this? I hope you feel better! Diet today is shot... not phase 1 today. Hope tomorrow I will be better. Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 3 skinless chicken strips (cooked in coconut oil), and here's the bad part... 1 small piece of honey bun cake. Lunch: Homemade chili... (the little bit that was left from last night), 2 ham & cream cheese roll ups..... another small piece of cake. I know... I'm just asking for it. When it's in the house and it's something that I love, it's so hard for me to stay out of it. I've got to get ahold of myself. I really didn't want to admit to eating that.... but really I don't cheat like that all the time.Supper will be the same as breakfast... except no cake, I promise! |

Well today started out pretty well, but we had to go meet with the tax guy and that threw our lunch off. Then meet with a lawyer on another matter and that ruined even more. So I had this today (so far...) Breakfast: 2 eggs on a home made flour tortilla (I knew it would be a while before lunch) Lunch - skipped - which is BAD Dinner - a sandwhich at Panera - Chicken Pomorodo. Grilled chicken on fresh bread, mozarella cheese, tomato sauce and fresh basil leaves. Pressed in a paninni pan. I ate the chips too. (sorry! - sunflower seed or not.) But I was starved! Also having my monthly. Heavy day and I had to change almost every hour while out running around. What a pain! Tomorrow will be better! Honey buns sound good, but then not, depending on who made them. I got to where the cheapy ones taste horrible!
