I don't have a diagnosis of MS but it's on the table - oh for like the last five years! I am reading The MS Recovery Diet and it is similar to the diet that those with candida follow but with a few tweaks. The main message is that if people can figure out what they are allergic to and sensitive to and eliminate those foods from their diet then they can see improvements in their MS symptoms. But you are also encouraged to cut out specific foods even if you don't have a sensitivity and at the same time learn to listen to your body. Now the book says that it does not work for everyone, but it does work for some people. Last year, my ND put me on a healthful diet as much as possible which is somewhat candida related but I am to eat as healthfully as possible anyways and I had the healthiest year last year. I am on my fifth year and although not 100% this book gives me the to inspiration to keep going and to keep looking after myself. So if you have neuro symptoms, and chronic pain like I had/have and your doc thinks you may have MS or if you have been diagnosed with it then give this book a shot if you're open to how diet and nutrition affects your health. I'm not a doctor but after reading the Yeast Connection and Lick the Sugar Habit I was still not 100% convinced - I couldn't relate to those books for some reason and I can't even explain why. I just go with my gut and I just wasn't buying everything in those books. But after reading The MS Recovery Diet I am 100% convinced. I feel that I can relate to this book and if just one other person reads it and can relate to this book then I'll be glad that I passed along this message. This is just my opinion though - I'm not claiming this is for everyone and I'm not suggesting that it will work for you. I'm just saying I had a light-bulb moment when reading this book and felt strongly enough about it that I feel like sharing. Naes. |
