This is a great book that explains allergies; talks about candida; talks about being allergic to moulds; etc.

It is a comprehensive guide to allergies.

It is a heavy read though; it's not a light read. So I just read a chapter at a time and then I am able to absorb and comprehend the info a little easier.

Its called The Allergy Bible by Linda Gamlin. Consultant: Professor Jonathan Brostoff. NEW EDITION of the definitive guide to allergies and intolerances.

Publisher: first published in 2001 by Quadrille Publishing Limited, Alhambra House, 27-31 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0LS.

There was a revised edition in 2005, but I have the one reprinted in 2007.

Contents:
What is Allergy?; The Diseases; Medical Help and Self-Help; Avoiding Allergens and Irritants; Drugs and Immunotherapy; Diets for Allergy and Intolerance; Complementary Therapies; Protecting Children Against Allergies.

I'm impressed with this book because it tells you every detail you wanted to know about allergies and defines different types, including intolerances. It talks about moulds indoors and outdoors; it talks about medicines that GPs use and then talks about homeopathic remedies. It even mentions acupuncture and osteopathy. It really covers all medical areas. And it explains and talks a bit about getting allergies as an adult. Now, I've only read some of the book so that's all I can say for now. I'm interested in itchy skin and pain and food intolerances/allergies and candida of course and I know I will get some good info on those topics just from skimming the book.

Happy reading.

I would be interested in what they say to eat in the diet section.

From everythig I've read....diets generally allow what doesn't bother you as opposed to what will heal you.

Doug's diet and Costantini's diet "The Garden Of Eden Longevitity Diet" both remove allergen foods (moldy ones & high glycemic) and replace with healing foods.

I'll make a note and summarize that section as best I can when I get to it. :)
