HISTORY
In 2064, humans and metahumans were in the midst of a full scale war. Humans had developed exceptionally powerful weapons and armor to fight some of the more absurdly overpowered metas. The metas, on the other hand, relying increasingly on their powers, had descended into a more primal and animalistic state of being.

At a military hospital in Denver, Colorado, only a few miles East of the front lines, a human infantrywoman named Taschereau gave birth to a daughter. They were relocated farther East, deeper in human territory, where the child, Trinity, could grow up. By the time Trinity was 17, the war showed no signs of slowing, let alone stopping, and Trinity was pressed into basic military training so that she could enter active duty as soon as she turned 18. Trinity had an exceptional physical build and made an incredible front line soldier, capable of handling herself in close quarters combat with many metahuman soldiers. The fact that Trinity Taschereau herself was a metahuman was not discovered until several years later when one of her powers first manifested and Trinity jumped, disappearing from the middle of a battle and finding herself, fully armed and armored, in the middle of a medieval keep, which she later learned was in Germany, circa 1200.

Being an obvious intruder, she was attacked, but given her extreme aptitude for combat and significantly more advanced equipment, she defended herself easily. Over the next decade, she became one of the most famous and successful warriors in Europe, renowned for her skills and her indestructible armor. Her wealth, fame, and influence grew immensely until one night she jumped in her sleep.

She woke, wearing only her undergarments, in a back alley, in Victorian era London. She quickly clothed herself by robbing a general store and disguised herself as a man. She signed herself on with the crew of a privateers’ ship. She served on the ship for a mere four months, engaging in two major battles and killing a significant number of enemy sailors before she jumped in the middle of the second battle.

Still swinging her saber, she appeared onboard a colonization ship sometime in the far future. The sudden appearance of an armed stranger onboard a ship travelling faster than the speed of light caused an understandable commotion, but when the situation was eventually resolved, Trinity was added to the ships roster, and she helped build a new human colony on a Super-Earth thirty light years from Earth. Trinity’s skill and training with various weapons made her a valuable asset when it came to hunting native animals for food and keeping local predators away from the budding colony. She lived on that planet for several decades, even taking a wife. She warned her wife from the start that she could and eventually would disappear without warning, and eventually, that’s exactly what happened.

Trinity found herself back on Earth, cursing herself for getting attached to someone. As near as she could figure out, this time, the year was 1949, but the Second World War in this timeline had escalated to a full scale nuclear conflict and reduced the world to rubble. She lived alone, hunting and gathering what little supplies there were for more than a year before she found survivors, living underground in old train terminals and tunnels. Life there was dull, dirty, and dangerous, but she stayed with them, growing steadily more sick of her eternal life for the next fifty years, give or take.

Her next jump took her to a prehistoric era where early man lived in primitive huts. The appearance of a powerful woman who towered over them all was reacted to in a predictable manner. She was worshipped as a goddess. She taught her chosen champions to build better weapons, to fight better, to build superior buildings. For approximately half a century, Trinity ruled an elite tribe of the most highly trained warriors and builders in the world. There were also various carnal benefits involved. Being a goddess is pretty cool, it seems. One morning she vanished in front of her subjects.

She found herself in 2070. But a 2070 quite different from the one she lived in for a year as a kid. In this world the Japanese had completely taken over the world after the Second World War. Once again, her ridiculously overdeveloped combat skills came in handy and she earned the respect of her new Japanese overlords. Despite the job opportunities involved with working with them, Trinity sought out the resistance and was a key instrument in the liberation of Auckland. It was a disappointing and underwhelming victory for everyone involved, but it was better than anything they had accomplished before. About two years passed and a number of underwhelming victories before she jumped the night before their biggest battle.

She jumped a bunch of times after that, visiting hundreds of thousands of timelines and never staying in one for very long. She completely lost track of how many times she jumped or how old she was. Her inability to form connections during this time sent her into a depression. She felt pointless, killing only because she was good at it, refusing to let anyone get close to her. At times she would sit and stare for hours into the barrel of whatever gun she happened to have in that time, wondering if she shot herself right as she jumped, would the bullet jump with her.

Eventually a jump landed her in the late 19th century. Feeling like she was worthless at anything else, she continued with her military career. Trinity once again disguised herself as a man and served in the Spanish-American War, then immediately afterwards in the Boer War. After she returned from Africa, remained in active service, travelling all over the world, seeing things she’s seen many times before. Eventually, much as she expected, the Great War was declared. Trinity went to France and joined the front lines right away. She repeated the cycle for the Second World War, then Korea, then Vietnam, until she was so sick of things she almost wished she would jump again.

Eventually, in 1988, Trinity left the military and started college. In 1998, she graduated medical school. She figured that she was finished jumping, since she had been in this timeline for over a century. The first day of her internship at a hospital, she jumped. She ended up in her home timeline again, around 2058. As she was clearly a metahuman now, she ended up in the metahuman army as a frontline medic. About a year later, she jumped out of a plane behind enemy lines and then jumped again about 20 meters above the ground.
