In recent years, Hogsmeade has become a bustling and diverse community, and a safe haven from the turmoil of the outside world. Students, staff and the public come and go from the school at their leisure, making the school feel much less like a fortress, and more like a campus.

The final destination for the Hogwarts Express. From here, Hogwarts students will be escorted up to the castle.

A small and cozy pub nestled into the hub of Hogsmeade. Known for quality service and a good atmosphere. A second floor, accessible only from outside the building, allows accommodations for those simply passing through. Run by Alistair York.

The second branch of the joke shop started and run by Fred and George Weasley, located where Zonko's used to be. The inside of the store is an explosion of noise and color, as each of the twins' products are put on display.

A sweetshop owned by Ambrosius Flume and his wife. The shop sells all manner of sweets, chocolates, candies and more. A must for any sweet tooth!

An exciting shop that sells an assortment of magical equipment including sneakoscopes, remembralls, wand holsters, wizard chess sets and much more.

The Envromi Family Quidditch Shop, which has been in constant operation since the early 1800s. Bringing you quality quidditch and broomstick servicing goods for over two hundred years.

A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side filled with small circular tables, often occupied by young couples.

The post office is home to hundreds of owls in a variety of shapes and sizes. Owls of every description are waiting to take your mail to its destination.

An extremely dingy and shabby pub with a worn out wooden sign over the door, the Hog's Head is a haunt for a considerably shady clientèle. Students are advised to bring their own glasses when visiting.

Reputed to be the most haunted house in Britain, the Shrieking Shack gets its name from the terrifying screams and noises heard coming from it some twenty years ago. The Shack has been silent for years, but the reputation lives on. The windows are completely boarded up. Outside the house is a dank, overgrown garden. The entrances are all sealed. Do you dare approach?

A warm and cozy pub where the locals gather to share a drink and a story or two. Run by the friendly and attractive Madame Rosmerta.

What used to be a dingy and abandoned building was quickly revived into the town's club. The speakeasy-like atmosphere roars in the inside compared to it's wilting exterior to disinterest unwanted visitors. Entrance is seclusive. Owned and ran by the DeWitt family.

Not as lavish as the mansions some are used to, but the various flats and houses that have recently been built are cozy, yet comfortable. Housing is available for students wishing to live outside Hogwarts Castle, and the Hogsmeade Council provides housing for those in need. Perfect for Hogwarts graduates who are just starting out.

Strange incidents have been reported at the school since Dumbledore's death. Often times, these happenings are subtle, and don't cause any lasting harm. Yet things going missing, spells going awry and odd behavior have been reported at the school with no logical explanation behind them. Many report feeling that things "just aren't right" about their surroundings.

Some students have reported hearing strange noises in the Hospital Wing at night, making it even less fun to spend the night in the Hospital Wing than it was before.

Horrendous noises can be heard coming from Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, which could not have come from the wailing ghost. Some of the artifacts in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom have gone missing over the past two years, with no culprit caught as of yet.

Oddly enough, nothing odd has ever been reported to have happened here--well, nothing more odd than what normally goes on at Hogwarts.

Recently, the books within the Library's restricted section have begun to behave...oddly--well, more odd than before. The incidents are numerous and varied, but some have found their way into students' bags, others are misbehaving in ways they never had before. It's as if they're trying to leave...

The fifth floor has recently had a recurring infestation of imps. No matter how many times they're beaten back, they return in greater numbers in a month or so. Students be warned. Imps are mere troublemakers, but younger students may find themselves terrorized into tears and unable to combat them.

Something lurks in the sixth floor corridors...something not human. A ghost of the past? A demon? Some say it's the ghost of the dead Headmaster, but no one has confirmed this.

The Room of Requirement has become very popular in recent years (not to mention known to just about everyone). Recently, however, there have been reports of the room granting the requests of its inhabitants in odd and unproductive ways, often corrupting the wishes of its guests to the point where they wished they'd never entered. Attempt at one's own risk.

For about two years, students report getting lost on the way to classes, claiming the hallways suddenly became larger or twisted into labyrinthine configurations. This phenomenon usually reverses itself, but students often end up lost without a clue as to how they got where they were.

The Faerie Folk have returned to this land, and they lay claim to the grounds of Hogwarts. Venturing out should be safe, for the most part, but if one was to meet the Fae, be advised not to eat or drink of anything offered. The Mermaids of the Black Lake, like many sentient magical creatures these days, are not fond of humans. The centaurs, however, remain protectors of the forest and will help human students in need if they must.
