Cast wasn't expecting her to steady his legs. Her hands were quite warm, though they only lingered while she readjusted. Not to shove him away, but to make sure his legs wouldn't fall off of her. Strange girl. He was mildly disappointed that she hadn't finished the thought from before. How would she have justified it? Perhaps he should simply be satisfied with the thought that she wasn't trying to shoo him away or leave; or any combination of these things. She'd settled now, with no one around to see what they were doing. Was that the difference, or was it because he was attempting to behave?

The Ravenclaw boy had the feeling like, if her father was going to be hearing rumours, they would be about his other two children. Anything circulating about Ryan would probably be disregarded. Cast had heard some terrible things about both Lis and Beck. Especially Lis. Beck more in relation to that Gryffindor psychopath.

"There'll probably be rumours regardless, could give some merit to them." Cast murmured, his tone shifting a little cheekily. Whoops. Must have been all that foxy leg grabbing. Merlin, he was tired. Hopefully she was catching onto the fact that he was just messing around. Mostly. He wondered how late she would stay up if he did leave.

If you don't stand for something, you might fall for anything.

Ryan hadn't really thought the whole leg thing through. She realized now, that she probably should have continued to urge him to go to the dorm. Now, she had invited him to stay longer, and he was obviously tired.
Regardless? He did have a point. Someone was bound to say something. Pictures lining the wall could see many things, mostly because some only pretended to be sleeping. By tomorrow, a lot of what was seen here would be known in the school. Ryan wasn't usually one to be involved in rumors. She heard many, blocked quite a few out for the sake of her siblings, but never actually heard one about herself.
After all, that was the nature of rumors, right? They were meant to be discovered by the people they were about. By now, something would have reached her if anyone had something to say.
Still, she was uneasy at the suggestion. At this point she figured he was just joking, but she was suddenly considering the possibilities like.. they were something she wanted. Mostly because, she found herself rather shamefully admitting, that she did want them. She smirked, eyes narrowing at his tone. Ryan reached for her sweater and pulled her legs out from under his and onto the couch. Her exposed legs were quickly covered by the heavy shirt for modesty more than warmth. She laid down on her side, head falling on to the opposite arm of the couch. She made herself as small as possible so he would have enough room to get comfortable. "Good enough?" She asked, sending a smile his way. Was she.. Teasing him back? Ryan was obviously getting bolder as she became more and more tired. She was unsure if she'd be comfortable in the mornin with this decision. The couch was comfortable. She was tired again. Ryan could feel her eyelids getting heavy as she her eyes flitted back and forth between Castor and the fire.

More readjusting, his eyes couldn't help a surreptitious glance up her legs before they were hidden from him. Cast wondered why she was suddenly so bold. He wondered if she found him less intimidating now? Or was too tired to care? It wasn't like there was anything particularly risque about laying like this, especially if she attempted to take up any less space. Cast stared, mostly wondering if he should push his luck. Perhaps wondering when her boldness would fail her. Of course, she looked so tired that he was tempted to let her fall asleep like this. Any of his own exhaustion had seemed to flee. He could feel the warmth from her, mostly her sweater. Cast hadn't realized how cold he was before she had decided to move. So he doubted sleep would claim him very easily, but he could wait until she was asleep and leave? The thought of being discovered in such a state by their housemates was unappealing for a few reasons. Most of them centered around the idea that neither of them really knew what they were doing and it would be easier to figure it out without half the student body making comments. "Not," Started he, fishing for words; considering what he actually wanted from the younger. Which actually wasn't anything in particular. Sort of. He wanted to tease her, even without knowing where that would land him. "Exactly what I had in mind." If she didn't understand his implication, the quirk in his mouth might solidify the notion.

Cast began to speak, took a second to check himself, it seemed, it seemed, before finishing the thought. For a moment, Ryan thought that he was being careful about his wording; maybe so he wouldn't get her worked up again. She knew that he didn't want her to leave. That was part of the reason she had been willing to stay.
Not what he had in mind? That look he gave her could get her into some trouble, and now it was etched into her memory. She kept that thought to herself, stuck her tongue out at him an decided to take a page out of Billie Baker's book. Her arm shoved at his legs, "Can it, Greengrass." She said after hearing the sound of at least one of his legs thudding to the floor to keep him up. It was kind of satisfying, but she couldn't help but send a playful, albeit sleepy grin his way. This was actually a pleasant situation. She'd like to keep staring at him, but she knew that her time to do so was tragically short. Sleep was winning her over, and she began to drift off within moments of him repositioning himself on the couch.

Cast started to laugh as his legs were shoved. She was stronger than she looked. Strong enough to almost throw him off the couch entirely. A foot connected with the floor as he attempted to steady himself. A hand too. Ah, shit. He really liked her, didn't he? The Ravenclaw swung himself back onto the couch. "As you wish." Teased he, although with no intention of not following her orders.

Ryan seemed to fall asleep. He wasn't anywhere near tired enough, even watching her rhythmic breathing. Somewhere down the line he realized that he shouldn't lay here watching her sleep and pulled himself off the couch and up the stairs to his dorm room. Maybe actually get some sleep himself.

She heard him respond, but couldn't remember if she'd actually given him the sad look that she wanted to.
By the morning, the girl was still asleep on the couch. The thought that he was near her made it easier to sleep then she had the night before. Strange.
It wasn't until someone plopped down on the couch that Ryan moved in her sleep. She was startled, and jumped to alertness. At the other end of the couch, where she'd thought for sure Castor had been laying on, sat Nashton McAdams. "You a sleep walker, Elliot?" She looked at the boy with a sleepy face and shook her head. Nash shook his head, too, "Looks like you are to me."
Ryan looked around the room, ignoring the observation the boy made. There were more people in the common room than there had been when she'd fallen asleep, but it seemed pretty early still, "What time is it?" She didn't really know Nashton all that well, just that he was also a sixth year, like Cast and Beck. An American, like herself.
"Early." The boy said. He was rather monotone, wasn't he? "Not concerned about the sleepwalking thing." A statement rather than a question. Ryan again ignored it. She was not a sleepwalker.
"Thanks." The girl got up, the boy shrugged, "Whatever."
Ryan went to her dorm and quickly got changed into some new clothes. When she came back into the common room, Nashton was also gone. The girl then made her way out of the common room and down to the Great Hall. She needed to talk to her twin.
