Well, finished some work on the Battle Standard, just fixed up the skin tone, armour, gold, beard and some detail on the banner itself. Totally forgot to take a before pic, so I only have an army pic I made a few nights ago. I guess you at least get to see the current standard of my Dwarf force. I am intending to fix them up as well, but we shall see.

I have however been hunting round ebay for more old Dwarf models, as I remember now why I abandoned these guys, and that's because I hate the new models, except for maybe one or two characters. So I have procured some old metal marauder dwarfs to make into a unit, so I can field the Dwarf Lords of Legend in a unit. I also have a cool idea for a unit filler involving my old Bugman's cart and some drunken Dwarfs, I'm sure you can see where that is going ;)

Anyways, enough waffle, here are some pics.

The army above is what I'm taking on Saturday, probably not a great list, but I wanted a fully painted force, and I wanted to take my Lord on Shield Bearers just cos. Any c&c is most welcome!

Finished fixing the cannon and the stone thrower. Let me know what you think.

Probably won't get time to paint/fix anymore before tomorrow's game, so that will do for now. As always and c&c is most welcome.

The Standard Bearer really looks great! The cannon and crew too. However, I think that you could improve by highlighting your browns one step more and by making the transition between the different shades of skin a bit less visible (see last picture, dwarf on the left).

I look forward to seeing the rest :)

Yeah, I agree with that. What I really needed was a darker skin colour between my darker base and Dwarf flesh, so then the contrast wouldn't have been so harsh. Thought I had a tanned flesh somewhere, but couldn't find it, so just made do with what I had. Totally agree about the contrast though, made me go hmmm, when I finished it, but live and learn. Will try and procure some more skin tone paints. Seem to burn through a lot of paints recently for some reason. ;)

Won't be touching up anything more before the game, but will try and take some pictures of it. I'm keen to paint some slayers actually after, as I have a few of the older ones, and love the models. Plus I really need to do my next stage of the Fellblade, can't let the Dwarfs overpower the Fists!

Alas, I forgot to take my camera. I remembered it after the 1st game. Ah well, it was a glorious outing for the Dwarfs, 2 wins under my belt. Thinking though that I might paint some old thunderers next as I think I might need them!

Have made a little progress with the Dwarfs. I'm playing in a narrative campaign with my friends Night Goblins, and the end scenario will be a siege type game, depending on the results of the lead up, it could either one of us defending! Still, we played our first game as an ambush of a Dwarf expedition on the way to an outpost, where I had to get a character off the short table edge and he had to capture one to win. Well, I got slaughtered (mainly do to one spell) and he captured both my characters. So now its grudge match time and now I have to try and rescue my characters from a grisly fate.

So in the lead up to this game, I changed my colour scheme and bases as I was a little sick of cold and snow and wanted something more bright and summer. So that's why I have gone this way. I do intend on adding more to the bases like grey rocks and summer leaves (just got them in the mail today), so will post pics of that when I do them. As always any advice would be most appreciated.

I've waffled enough, so here are some pics.

The next game is tomorrow night (hopefully) so will try my hardest to remember to take the camera. Not too sure what to work on next, but will keep you posted.
