Vaseline, while the GS is still wet, may help get a smoother finish on the reverse. You may have to trim it flat with a sharp knife if that doesn't work. |

Thanks, might try that out, and failing that might file it. To be honest it isn't critical, as it is the back of the shield. I guess I'll have to see how annoyed I am by it when I field them. Finished the shields on the first 5. Let me know what you think.

I know that you're busy with your Fellblade but are you going to paint anything from WHFB anytime soon?

Well, I've nearly finished the Fellblade and then I plan on painting some chaos I think for fantasy. Though work has been busy of late so painting has been slow. Hoping to get another update fro teh fellblade done this weekend, and hopefully get it completed in the next two or three weeks. Hopefully! |

Well, what a hiatus! Not that I haven't been busy, but getting a new contract has kept me off teh paints for awhile. That and painting a Fellblade! Still, I have got something share, despite my absence. Finished off my Ironbreakers this week. They have been sitting on my desk for close on 4 months, and there was only four to do! Ah well, least now they are done. Here are the pics of the models. I also realised I didn't add a pick of the preceding 5 Ironbreakers, so have put them up as well as a regiment shot. As always any c&c is most welcome. ![]() The command. Decided to use the old Ironbreaker with a two handed weapon as the unt champion, considering it is the only one I have (don't have the other varient...yet) Full regiment. ![]() In other news, haven't had too many games, but I did play the next scenario for the underground battles in the Blood in the Badlands book. I'm shamed to say I got hammered. Really bad. So bad, that I now suffer a 100pt disadvantage in all games from now on! I can only blame the dice so much, but I must say my main problem is with the fanatics. They decimated all my combat units before they got stuck in, so really I need to think of a way to handle them. My friend tends to field round about 6 to 9 of them, so there is a lot of whirling death about. I thought about trying to pop them out early, but could only think of using the gyrocopter to do so, so I dug one out and am in the process of pinning it together (it is metal, I'll never go for Finecast). The next game has been lined up in a few weeks time, so am unsure if I can get the new stuff painted in time, but we shall see. I'm thinking that considering the next scenario is where he has to destroy the pillars (3 of 4 to proceed), that I won't take any warmachines as I'd have to march them up with my troops and even then might only get 1 shot off before its eitehr game or close combat ensures. So I decided to take an all infantry army. I'm taking my Ironbreakers (it is underground) and have also decided to take some miners (fluffy as well). I thought that since there is so much ground to cover, I can only realistically protect one pillar for certain and threaten another. The miners will pop up and threaten a third, so the Night Goblins will be under the pump (hopefully). Plus I really want to paint my old metal miners as tehy are such great sculpts. As for the fanatics, that's what my gyrocopter is going to do, get them to all pop out (hopefully). Will keep you posted, though if any one has any thoughts on tackling fanatics, I'd love to hear them. |

Very nice work dude. Only thing that is bugging me is the horn-thing not being drilled out. The rest of your work looks pretty solid though.

Thanks Skittle. True that the horn isn't drilled out, and I know a lot of people like it that way. I can only say I am lazy ![]() |

The older models look great - so full of character! |

@lestat: Cheers! I prefer the old ones to the new ones, they just have the character and humour that is missing from GW these days. Well, had a nice productive few days. Got my gyrocopter pinned, undercoated and painted. Not bad considering my lack of progress! I still plan at some stage to add some shields to the sides of the machine, but that can wait till I make some mroe moulds and test the quality. For the gyrocopter, I didn't want it to look like a police chopper, so I stuck with a simple scheme. Hope you like. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next I'm planning on doing some miners, as I feel they could be very useful to help defend the pillars in the next scenario. I have a unit of 20, though I was a little stuck when it came to colour. There isn't a lot of room on the models for the spot colours, the are mainly armour and leather. At first I thought I would so their gloves different colours (blue and cream) but thought that would be odd. At the moment I think I'll just rely on the fact their bases are the same as the rest of the army in order for it to tie in, as I'm can't think of another way. Anyone have any ideas? The models are the old marauder metal miners. Cheers for any advice. |
