Carol, that's a relief about your TV. Ian always reminds us to check the wires, too, when we are having trouble. And he's usually right. I still worry about you shovelling that heavy snow.

Kath, your print will look gorgeous in your dining room. Interesting how you had to get permission and pay a copyright fee. The cats in the tree theme is perfect for you. Once you get it framed and in place I would like to see a photo. :clk:

Jill, Santa Barbara must be one of the nicest cities anywhere. I enjoyed the video!

Penny, thanks for the bear updates. It calms me down just thinking about their slow breathing rates.

Wishing everyone a good day. Posted Image

Whooper Update: St. Marks Wildlife Refuge hosted the WHO Festival (Wildlife, Heritage and Outdoors) recently. OM was a participant. Here is rock star Brooke signing autographs. :D

The whooper chicks are at St. Marks but they are deep in the refuge somewhere and not accessible to the public.

More photos and the full story here:

I loved the final photo of the toddler looking at the costume, and the box of bugs.

This is a person who I knew and who had a profound effect on my life. It's a long story but for several months in 1970, in the days when I thought I might want to become a psychotherapist, I was employed by his managers and my then therapist, as his "babysitter/companion" following a major breakdown he'd had after completing his role in David Lean's film, "Ryan's Daughter". It was a bizarre experience to say the least, among the most bizarre aspects being that his manager owned the house where Sharon Tate and others had been murdered, and was where he lived for part of the time I knew him. I spent a lot of time with him in that house just months after the crime had occurred. His Obituaries say he'd lost interest in acting but he actually had severe psychological problems that made him unemployable after his breakdown, largely brought on by Sharon's murder. In an explosive interview he gave years later he revealed his affair with Sharon while she was married to Roman Polanski while the couple were renting the infamous house in Benedict Canyon, Beverly Hills. His Wikipedia page has some background on his life and career. He was charming, a talented artist, drop dead gorgeous, and crazy as a bedbug, but a tortured soul, and it was very hard not to have a huge crush on him. If I ever finish my "memoirs" several chapters will be on my experience with him. This is a clip of him singing from one of his other known films "Wild in the Streets".

Kris very interesting story...I can't wait to read your Memoirs :)^

A few hours ago our door alarm panel starts beeping and when I checked it told me the trouble was in the garage...uh oh, we know who lives in there :o I went to check if anything looked like it had been gnawed, but couldn't see anything wrong. Anyway, the phone went offline as it does when it is calling the alarm company but the problem is, it never came back on :hair:

So many tries later to get it to reset itself...the alarm company says it is the service provider equipment not theirs. The telepone company tells us they can't even send anyone until tomorrow. DH called the TV installer guy and he is going to swing by here tonight again to see what's what. Maybe it is an issue with the big box a block and a half away again  My neighbours all seem to have their landlines working. Somehow these issues keep happening to us

I have to wait for DH to get home tonight before I can call my Mom because he has the long distance plan on his cell phone and I don't

<::: UPDATE ON THE NAMING THE EAGLETS: The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam has made the decision to keep the 2013-2014 eaglet names E3 and E4. We feel this is the best decision under the circumstances of this season's events.

We will remember E3 in the videos and photos captured and look forward to watching E4 grow and develop over the next few months.

FEBRUARY 6, 2014 - E4 Standing Strong

Southwest Florida :<<o>>: Cam- Nest Notes for Feb. 5

Posted Image

I broke out of my shell and came into the world at 10:21 am on Christmas Day, 2013 with the help of my sibling E3. I looked up to my sibling and let E3 take the lead. I became submissive to E3’s needs. My sibling helped me break out of my shell in more ways than one. I learned to overcome my fears and became courageous. I rose up from my shyness and took a stand. I gained the strength I needed to get my needs met.

When the time came for my beloved sibling to pass on to the Great Spirit, I was proud to be side by side to comfort E3. I am left behind with all the great lessons I learned on my way to becoming an amazing Eagle one day. I am E4.
