G'day Peeps! My Friday. And its a beautiful day outside, fleeting clouds dancing on a light wind. Bob & I had midmorning errands to run and when we had been in the car about 5 minutes, I had an onset of oesophageal spasms. Oh Boy, did that hurt! I didnt have any water to drink with me which is what usually will fix the problem, so as soon as we arrived at the shops, I bought one. I had a Doc appt scheduled anyway for the morning (I think I have a skin staff infection!) so we covered that and the Doc gave me a reflux tablet to take a night. It scared Bob who thought I was having a heart attack. I knew I wasnt because my arms were fine.A HUG for you today Kris, RIP for your friend, CJ. Had you kept in touch with him through the years? I too love the WC toys, but dont have any children in my life to buy for. I love the '7 white snow animals' Penny. Bummer about your electrical problems, PIA. Jillers! Those little kiwi birds are the cutest. Kiwi fruit actually originated in China (gooseberries), so its not cannibalism. Rachel called me to say she had a free day in lieu of working on Australia day. She has next Friday off. The 14th of February. She asked if we could spend the day together! I get to decide what to do. I have a gift voucher for a nice spa, so I booked us both for 'treatments' Face for me, massage for her. Should be fun.

Lily the Black Bear – UPDATE February 6, 2014 Getting Ready ![]() Juliet On this 14th day of their lives, Juliet’s cubs are mostly under her and out of sight. Their eyes will stay closed for another month, and then the major activity will start. Holly is buried as has become the norm for her. We’ve never seen another bear bury themselves in bedding. The only bear we’ve ever seen do something similar was buried under snow as we told about in the Update for November 13, 2011. ![]() Juliet and cub We are seeing your wonderful testimonials of how much the Den Cams have meant to you and how you wish we were still allowed to broadcast them. We echo those sentiments and thank you for your words of support. Restricting people from learning is contrary to everything we believe in and anything that makes sense. Juliet and cub With the hearing on our permit less than 3 weeks away, we have been busy preparing documents. The 8-day hearing will be at the Office of Administrative Hearings, 600 North Robert Street in St. Paul Minnesota. It will be in the Skjestad Room on the second floor and is open to the public. We are looking forward to this opportunity to finally speak out. Thank you for all you do. —Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield, Biologists, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center |
