Penny, :D about your curling comment. Robert watches it but it's not my thing, either. I do like the CTV reporter's name "Briar". Her parents must be curling people. Thanks for the fascinating crow video.

Shirley Temple was such a sweetheart, so perky and cute, cute, cute. My Mom has a Shirley Temple doll (purchased about 20 years ago so not a vintage one).

"Her immense popularity prompted President Franklin D. Roosevelt to say that 'as long as our country has Shirley Temple, we will be all right'.

'When the spirit of the people is lower than at any other time during this Depression, it is a splendid thing that for just 15 cents, an American can go to a movie and look at the smiling face of a baby and forget his troubles,' Roosevelt said."

Cheryl I loved seeing the vintage cake stands in this graphic....the bottom one is Hobnail in Jadite and the top clear glass one looks like the Heritage pattern.

Both of them are Depression Era glass. I have some small items in several different patterns which I use when company is here. Most of mine are clear but several like 'American Sweetheart' platters, cream and sugar, S&P shakers I have are Monax which is an opalescent white. I also have a tea/sandwich set in deep purple which looks black. They look great with both the white and clear items. I sold a lot of Depression glass when I had my antique store.

This is an innovative way to use the cake stands...I really like the idea of using china cups filled with African violets. I happen to have a lot of those too...cups, not violets :D

Cheryl I <3 all of the Olympic Winter Sports except for Curling Posted Image

Maybe that's because it looks too much like Posted Image :P :D
rofl I agree!!!

Love the cake stand with teacups too. Margie posted that on FB, what a neat idea. The same use of teacups was used for garden topiary decorations too, very clever.

Norway is now in front in the medal count. Aussies still at ZERO, but its not over yet! rofl

My poor Bob is flat on his back today. After 3 back operations, he has to be so careful or he aggravates it and this is what happens. Hopefully a day or so of rest will make it better.

Love the funny of ducks drying off! Have fun in Ft Myers Carole! Hope you get some good photos.

Sara sent me this link of a bird web cam on Kauai, albatross nest
