Kris - What a horrendous family story <:3 I have heard terrible things about caretakers abusing and taking money from their patients but your story is the worst :'( Ed sounds like quite the handyman, he's a keeper :)^ Hope your weather improves :X:

Ozzie
- Another tragic story about your friend Hue's family but at least the ending for her and David is a happy one.

This morning is the first time I have "me time" and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of this Florida home. Getting all the linens changed and laundered, and then the cleaning team come in to do the house (owner pays for a one time maid service) am I ever spoiled. >O< After Alan comes home from golf, we are heading over to Costco to do some shopping and then to Publix for groceries as 2 couples are coming for dinner tomorrow night and we will BBQ.

Yesterday on the golf course the bird count was amazing. I saw 2 hawks bonding and the chirps and squeals from all the birds was music to my ears. :<:: The Sandhills are so people imprinted they won't move. I tried to chase them away as I didn't want to hit them with a golf ball, but they just slowly walked across the fairway and watched us play. It was a gorgeous :*: day.

Good morning, everybody. It's very cold but at least the sun is out.

We are watching the pairs long dance/skate program this morning. Kath, the Australian couple had a fun circus theme. Their costumes were so colourful - bright lime green, turquoise and magenta. They are the first Australian team to qualify for the Olympics since I believe they said 1998. I forgot to tell you that your graphic of the koalas on the bobsled had me rofl . The poem by Banjo reminded me of the long, story-type poems we used to study in school. I enjoyed it and the painting was lovely, especially the colours and the horses. You are so right, we are so very fortunate. I'm glad that Hue and her family are doing much better now.

Carole, the birds at the golf course must have been a joy (except for the sandhills getting in the way :D ). I can just picture you in my mind's eye telling them to move! The eaglet close-ups were great screen caps. :)^

I dug out an old stitchery project and have been working on it. Maybe by the time I'm 100 years old I'll have it finished.
;)

Carole - Nice eaglet shots / Enjoy your "me time" and all your "critters"
A couple years ago, during the migration count, six sandhill cranes
flew over. It was so exciting to see as that was the only time they
were seen here.

Cheryl - Good luck with your stitchery :)^ Years ago I started an
afghan of granny squares and I think I have 8 squares done rofl rofl /
pretty whooper /

Deb - Penny - Kris - Topa - Jill - KLJinOZ Wishing you a smooth day

Very cold here - 14 - but sun is shinning at present / We now are
officially at 4th snowiest winter, 64.7 inches and winter isn't
over yet and expect another 2-4 inches tonight /

Thank you all for your comments and commiserations on my tales of my experience being my family's conservator. (((GH))) I can't express how devastating the whole experience was. We tried to get the felon charged with multiple crimes but after he'd finally been arrested on other charges, including Parole violations, and with a trial date set, my mother, Lori, I, and remaining disreputable brother ("friend" of the criminal), showed up for his hearing to witness to the charges, at the last minute the "system" found that his "rights" had been violated because he'd been held in custody some time longer than the law allowed so he was released!! :hair: Right there at the court with us all ready to testify against him! :hair:  He was let go minutes before the hearing was to begin and then skipped parole and disappeared! A few days later my remaining brother's favorite Wolf disappeared from his desert property and he was sure this scumbag had kidnapped it! He'd previously bragged to my brother he'd taken ex girlfriend's Cats into the desert and let them go as revenge against them and my brother thought that's what this monster did with his Wolf to get back at him for being willing to testify against him. My disreputable brother kept a group of Wolves on his property in the desert as his "pets" and ego bolsters, and this creep knew that would hit him where it hurt the most. They'd been friends until he was released from jail and needed a place to stay. My brother then helped him move into my mother and grandmother's house and he took over, keeping mom appeased by supplying her with street drugs. After he skipped parole and I knew he'd threatened to kill Lori and I if we upset his previous cushy situation with our female relatives, I even had the probate attorney send me his booking photos so I could recognize him if he ever came after me. It was a menacing shot of him with his twin Dragon tattoos on his inner forearms; one thing I didn't shred to keep for "posterity" and that possible future "Memoir". My mother was married to a Costa Rican diplomat/doctor, and my grandmother was a successful realtor into her 80s so it wasn't a case of low class crime, it was an outrageous savaging of our once close family and a loss of all assets accumulated over decades. :'( There's much more to the story, as you might imagine. :(

Ozzie, thanks for the smile with the Alien cartoon. :Hugs:

Cheryl, beautiful pic of WC #8-10. :)^

Still waiting for fence repairs. :pacing: We may have to contact the leasing agent if the Harpies don't respond. They're probably waiting for a decision on the rebuilding project and don't want to do repairs that would be short term if they get their approval. :hair:

Kris we are dealing with a situation right now which is similar in a way. Part of the problem in this case is getting the family to realize what is happening because they believe everything is 'kosher'. Some things are starting to change...almost too late.

In this case the person has been groomed for years by the fraud artist and unfortunately he is totally under that person's control and has been for a long time. Luckily his wife isn't but she has been powerless to stop any payments etc. because her husband, the victim, is the boss. Really tragic :'(

The Police are going to have to get involved because that person is controlling the victims meds and somehow has already dished out two overdoses :8O:

G'day Peeps, my rainy Tuesday. I will be glad when the Olympics is over so I can get to bed at a reasonable hour (and then get up not so tired)! The Men's snowboarding (which has Aussie hopes) was cancelled due to fog. We have two comedians that have a 30 min program about the Olympics and their stage was 'fogged' during the show. Roy & HG, they are too funny.

Your day sounded a lot of fun Carole, nice to have a maid come in too. :)^ What is for dinner tomorrow?

Maybe your project will be an antique when you finish Cheryl! rofl I have knitting that is about 20 years old too. :P
What a great story about #8-10 showing up! Thanks for posting that.

I love Satana Jillers!

Carol, amazing about all the snow, the CA is so dry.

Have the builder coming today to confirm the plans. :X: its all ok and we can sign the contract and start.
