Thank you so much Carole, Cheryl, Penny, Ozzie, and Carol for the greatly appreciated Birthday Wishes, and the wonderful Crow graphics. I wish I could say it was as special a day as you all had wished but, even though it began with Ed's loving care and thoughtful gifts, at 10:30 am our Harpy landladies' creep of a handyman came pounding on our door and with no notice expected to have access to our rear garden to spend the day repairing the wind damaged fence. We'd been asking for the repair to be done for over a week with no response, but our lease calls for 24 hour notice for any such intrusions and we had different plans for the day. When Ed said it wasn't possible yesterday (Saturday!) and we needed to have 24 hour notice as our lease requires the Hijo de la Madre Chingada (SOB) became enraged, called Ed a "wanker" and a "b*****d", tried to force his way past him, threatened him with body language, and was menacingly insistent he be allowed access to start the work!! He finally gave up in a rage and Ed called the horrible landlady to report what had happened. She threw a fit, threatened to "pull the contract" (our lease), said "I guess you don't like living there"! and unleashed a tirade of incredible insults, including accusing us of never having guests and said she had people who "watch" us and "knew"! Which is complete BS. We don't have many guests and since we have only one parking spot they have to park down the lane when they do visit so how could anyone know if we do or don't have visitors and what does that have to do with anything anyway?? She lied and said the guy in the rear annex (the fence is between the properties) had agreed to the work, etc. Ed later went over and asked him and he said he never spoke with her and knew nothing about it! It was an outrageous assault from her and her worker. Ed phoned the police and they took a report about the aggressive worker's behavior so if the creep did anything vindictive it would be on record. By then Ed was feeling very unwell and unable to go out for lunch as we'd planned so we decided to go for a walk in a nearby wood. (Sorry for the lengthy account, I'll try to wrap it up) When we got to the wood and a short distance up the path we heard dozens of baying and howling Dogs and trumpets coming in our direction on public land! And realized we were in the path of a very large Fox Hunt! Illegal in all respects: Fox hunting with Dogs! Dangerous to anyone trying to have a peaceful walk on public land and might be in their way! And frightening to be suddenly in the path of. We had to rush into a wooded area where they wouldn't likely be going and shortly the whole hunt with dozens of mounted riders in red coats and loudly ravening Dogs stampeded down the path we'd just been walking up! As we had entered the wood we encountered a guy on a small vehicle who we questioned about the hunt. He said he was spreading scent ahead of the pack and it was a "practice" hunt, not the "real thing". Whatever it was, after they passed and we were leaving the wood we encountered a woman walking her Dog up the path where minutes before the whole hoard had gone past. She was frightened that she and her Dog had almost been run into by the hunt and feared her Dog would not have survived that encounter. Ed, for the second time yesterday, phoned the police from the wood and reported the illegal hunt, dangerously on public land. We planned to go for a nice lunch today but instead before we could one of the Harpies slipped a notice into our mailbox saying that on Tuesday, while the worker repairs the fence (good it was more than 24 hours notice and that the fence will be repaired finally, but awful it will be that SOB in our space), that they were going to invoke their lease allowed "Property inspection". So today we had to spend the day cleaning and preparing for their ignorant and unkind eyes to inspect our living space. Ed predicted that would be the retribution for the debacle yesterday and he was right. There's been a program on TV called "Landlords From Hell" and these #%@*! could be the poster Biddies for that show! Sorry for the lengthy rant. And thank you all again for the lovely birthday wishes with Crows. Next to Ed's loving gifts they were the highlight of my day. |

Kris I am utterly appalled at the gall of your landladies and the way you have been treated with such disrespect by them for absolutely NO reason ![]() Sorry they really ruined your What goes around eventually comes around Once you leave you should nominate them for the "Landlords From Hell" TV show ![]() I am really shocked that the fox hunts are allowed still and nobody seems to be able to stop these boors from holding them when and where they feel like it. They should be fined for participating, at the very least, because they are endangering the public too
