Aw, Kris, you will have to have a do-over birthday. Just pick a nice day possibly on the 22nd again and go for your birthday lunch and a nicer walk in the woods. That fox hunt, real or not, sounds terrifying. I feel badly for you and Ed and the woman walking her dog. Your landladies break the rules when they feel like it (24 hours' notice) then use the rules to their advantage whenever they need to. They should be nominated once you are away from there. It seems so quiet here this morning with no Olympics to watch. Kath, I've saved the lovely crane painting picture by Sylvia Ditchburn. I'll do a search about her sometime today. Thanks for thinking of me and posting it. Thanks for the congrats on the Olympics, too. It means a lot to many Canadians that we do well. I don't know why, maybe because we are such a big and relatively young country with a small population. The Olympics pulls us together. Good news that you aren't as sore today. Penny, I'm enjoying the bear updates as always. Good luck to the bear team with the court hearing. Carol, thanks for always sharing your sightings at MCR. Soon I guess you'll be seeing the spring migrants. |

Weather permitting, tomorrow Alan and I are planning to drive down to Fort Myers to see E4, Ozzie and Harriet. I don't have a long range lens for my camera so can't promise photos but will do my best with what I have. I was going to buy a lens but am thinking about a new camera so will get one for that in the near future. Just seeing the nest will be a big thrill. After viewing the nest we plan on going into downtown Fort Myers to look around and have lunch outdoors as Maya will be with us. |

Carole, a nest visit tomorrow! Woo hoo! I am so excited for you! I would like to know where those eagles get their food. Is there a river or lake nearby? I guess you will be able to check out the terrain tomorrow. Have fun!

Here is the scene yesterday in the church my brother attends. They had the hockey game playing on screen during the service.

Penny, here you go. The bars in Ontario couldn't serve alcohol that early, either. I don't think they changed the law for the game, though. The bars were open but just serving food and fancy coffee. There was a segment on the news about it - actually, several segments!

One more, then I'll stop ... this is for Penny and Carole. To explain - Tim Horton's is a favourite Canadian coffee and doughnut franchise, like Starbucks only much better.

Cheryl that couldn't have been a Catholic church ![]() Never ever seen a big screen TV in any church before...they needed to have their congregants attend mass instead of staying home to watch the game Love the Timmies traffic jam too ![]() We both have Olympic withdrawal this morning ![]() Carole I am excited for you to see the Ft. Myers nest. Wish the family good luck from us while you are there I guess Maya won't even notice them but keep your leash attached just in case they see her as a snack for E4

Cheryl - Tim Horton cartoon Penny - I will keep a tight leash on Maya when we are at the nest or leave her in the car if it isn't too hot. The big disappointment in Florida this year is that the pond is so quiet. Neighbours told me it was like that last year too when we weren't here. The water level is higher and maybe there aren't enough fish for the birds. I did see what I thought was a nesting pair of Sandhills around the corner on another pond, will check them out later in the week. |
