Hello, everybody! The sun is out! Big excitement! The something nice I'm going to do for myself is to go to one or maybe two gardening centres today. Yesterday would have been super busy. Maybe everybody will be at work today and things will be quiet. I worked on cleaning up the front flower bed yesterday. It was a big chore which normally gets done in April but not this year with such cold weather.Enjoy your day, everyone. Do something nice for yourself!!! Carole, I hope this finds you feeling better. |

- just checked and no word yet on E8, so sad Kris, I wish I could see a painted bunting. They are more of a western bird for us. My mother did see one in her backyard once and was shocked because she didn't know what it was since it was so colourful. She thought it was maybe someone's escaped budgie type of bird until she looked it up. Penny, the senior fashionistas were looking great!

Cheryl - After a miserable rainy day yesterday, the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day so far. I'm feeling much better today. My neighbour surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of tulips for Mother's Day. She knew it was a first for me without my Mom and she wanted to cheer me up. it sure did Maya is going in for a grooming later today. We are going to Montreal this weekend for my sister's 70th birthday party which is being held in an Italian restaurant in the "Little Italy" part of the city. I have never been there but from what I've heard, we are in for a delicious feast.

Jill, wowzers, that is an awesome door! I saw an eagle bird feeder at the garden centre today. It was $80.00, too expensive but very cool. Carole, the Italian birthday dinner will be so tasty! We had a special meal in Rome that was memorable. Congratulations to your sister for her 70th. Your neighbour was so thoughtful bringing you the tulips. I'm glad you are feeling better today. The news is saying that Fort McMurray is actually 85% intact. It looked like the end of the world with the fires and evacuations so considering that, this is excellent news. They've allowed some media tours today with escorts and main leader-type folks coming along and explaining things. Some residential neighbourhoods, though, are completely burned to the ground, very emotional for those who had homes there. |

G'day Peeps, my sunny Tuesday. Despite the wet weather, it appears we missed most of the rainfall so I might heavy water the corner of the back yard that has a tree canopy (reduces the rain fall in that area). It is a breezy cool day today, autumn has hit. I too will be in the garden to water the dry spots and harvest some tomatoes and spinach/swiss chard. I have plans to work in the garden later in the week as my winter crop seedlings are ready to go in: sweet peas, beetroot and some herbs. That is a relief about Ft McMurray, but any loss of homes is tragic. Jillers, love the funnies today. Carole, any more news about E8? Carol, have a nice day today and Kris, Penny, Deb (travelling). Are you girls watching the skies? http://www.news.com.au/technology/science/space/mercurys-rare-transit-across-the-sun-mesmerises-stargazers/news-story/6b290d7bbbb88cdf1dec9c9aced1a49f Also meteorite showers! ![]() |
