Carol, congratulations on having your pictures and artwork put in a featured display location. I was wondering what kind of flowers were in the photo you posted. Kath, how is your back feeling, and how is Bob doing? You are doing really well with your walking. I'm sure your slow cooker beef and the rest of the dinner were very tasty. Thanks to everyone for their comments/reactions to the Tiana video that Jill posted. I sent the video link and the blog link to Dr. Sharpe. As someone else said, he has likely already seen it. Last night the news showed how park visitors in Yellowstone had caused the death of a baby bison by interfering. The segment also showed a woman approaching and petting an adult bison. There are some stupid people out there who don't realize the danger involved with wild animals. When we were in the Galapagos one woman in our group tried to pet a baby sea lion that was swimming and frolicking near her. It snapped and almost bit her. We went to the gardening centre yesterday to get my annuals. I wait all winter to go there. I got 20 geraniums, 14 sunshine impatiens, a couple of pots of flavoured mint (neat stuff for fizzy lifting drinks), a "Bloomerang" lilac bush (not a tree, stays small), and Robert bought a bright pink hibiscus to put in a pot. Mostly everything is in the garage. We keep bringing the hanging baskets that I bought a couple of weeks ago inside every night. Maybe by the weekend I'll be able to plant things in the ground.Have a good day, everyone. I'll try to check in later. |

Good morning everyone. Penny, a very happy belated birthday. I'm sorry I missed the day. Cheryl, couldn't look at the Tiana incident when I read that it was upsetting. We've been upset enough this past week since being told our landlords want to move family into this house and we have to move again after only six months. There are no tenant protections here, as we've painfully learned in the several moves we've had to endure for no good reason since coming here. The only good news recently is that E-8 was miraculously found and is getting the care he needs that will hopefully save his life. I just made a small donation to CROW on his behalf. This Friday there is yet another court date to decide the fate of the captive, and horribly abused Indian Elephant Mohan, who I've mentioned several times over the months. Wildlife SOS is cautiously optimistic they may finally get the permissions they need to transfer him to their sanctuary, and reunite him with his former companion in misery of over 50 years, Raju, who they were able to rescue nearly two years ago.

More News About E8 from CROW: "E8 has been quiet, alert and responsive and has not regurgitated any food the last couple of days and was fed soft pieces of rat today. E8 was observed to be hock sitting and for the remainder of the time is in the prone position (laying flat with the chest down and back up) and has been moved to a larger enclosure to encourage movement. Although positive signs, E8 is still receiving pain medication and remains in critical and guarded condition. Thanks for your endless support." |

Hello, Kris. I was afraid earlier when you mentioned having a bad week that you'd been told you'd have to move. You and Ed just can't get a break with housing and renting. Here people have leases, mostly yearly I believe, and there are laws to protect tenants although I don't know much about them. I'm sorry you and Ed have to go through this again! Please keep us updated on the progress with Mohan. Raju would be so happy to see his friend again, and vice versa.
