Whooper Update: This video shows whooping crane #5-12 shooing away a juvenile bald eagle who was sitting in the field in #5-12's territory. Afterwards the whooper does the happy dance because he's so proud of himself. :D Slide the video marker forward to about the five minute mark and watch his zig-zag subtle moves as he approaches the juvie.

In Case You Missed It :><:

Hope your weather is better than ours today...heavy downpours of :rn: with strong winds and much cooler than normal at 12C/53F and the same and even cooler for tomorrow :o

We are still fighting the invasion of the forest tent caterpillars. Winnipeg is spraying on a daily basis so at the old house there are one or two but East St Paul is doing NOTHING. We are picking them off the house and our new plants by the hundreds every day and now have a bucket of dead ones to deal with UGH!!! We have to check Siobhan every time she comes back inside to make sure there are none on her fur. They are crawling through the grass and marching up the driveway to get to their preferred food which seems to be our new dogwoods, honeysuckle and lilacs in the front plus the ash tree. They don’t seem to like the hydrangeas as much. I am starting to dream about the creepy crawlies now and can’t even venture into the back because there are thousands of them everywhere Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image This is a cyclical event and will continue for the next 3 years :hair:

I wish the birds enjoyed them more, the robins seem to like them but even the red winged blackbirds are preferring to eat the oiled sunflower seeds instead Posted Image

Cheryl thanks for those awesome links to the OM videos :><: :><: :><: I loved watching the zig zag sneak attack and the "I kicked butt" happy dancing by #5 - 12 afterwards rofl

Thanks also for the Japanese maple info. That's what I thought it was but wasn't sure because most of them that I've seen here are very large trees and yours looked more like a shrub.

JEWISH MOTHER

The year is 2020 and the United States has elected the first woman as
well as the first Jewish president, Susan Goldstein.

She calls up her mother a few weeks after Election Day and says, "So,
Mom, I assume you'll be coming to my inauguration?"

"I don't think so. It's a ten-hour drive, your father isn't as young as he used to be, and my arthritis is acting up again."

"Don't worry about it, Mom, I'll send Air Force One to pick you up and take you home. And a limousine will pick you up at your door."

"I don't know. Everybody will be so fancy-schmantzy; what on earth
would I wear?"

Susan replies, "I'll make sure you have a wonderful gown, custom-made by the best designer in New York."

"Honey," Mom complains, "you know I can't eat those rich foods you and your friends like to eat."

The President-to-be responds, "Don't worry Mom. The entire affair is going to be handled by the best caterer in New York; kosher all the way. Mom, I really want you to come."

So Mom reluctantly agrees and on January 20, 2021, Susan Goldstein is being sworn in as President of the United States. In the front row sits the new President's mother, who leans over to a Senator sitting next to her and says, "You see that woman over there with her hand on the Torah, becoming President of the United States?"

The Senator whispers back, "Yes, I do."

Mom says proudly, "Her brother is a doctor."

ITALIAN MOTHER

Giuseppe excitedly tells his mother he's fallen in love and that he is going to get married.

He says, "Just for fun, Mama, I'm going to bring over three women and you try and guess which one I'm going to marry." The mother agrees.

The next day, he brings three beautiful women into the house, sits them down on the couch and they chat for a while.

He then says, "Okay, Mama, guess which one am I going to marry?"

Mama says immediately, "The one on the right."

"That's amazing, Mama. You're right. How did you know?"

Mama replies: "I don't like her."

G'day Peeps, my cloudy rainy Wednesday. I went through all day yesterday thinking it was Wednesday until about 8pm and Bob said 'Honey, its Tuesday!'
I have a seminar in the City late afternoon.

Love the WC links Cheryl, so fun to watch with my morning coffee.

Good grief Penny. I would be having bug dreams too.... There has to be something lest that will stop them other than spray. Baking Soda? Most worms hate that stuff.

HAHAHAH, Jillers! Here is mine:

First off, I am or will be okay. I had a terrible accident yesterday, but I am doing better now. I decided to go horseback riding, which I haven't done in quite a while. Well, I got on the horse and started out slow, and then we went a little faster, and then we were going as fast as the horse could go. All of a sudden I fell off and caught my foot in the stirrup and the horse was dragging me around in a circle. It wouldn't stop, it just kept going around and around.
Thank goodness the store manager at Wal-Mart came out and unplugged the carousel!!!
