Carol - Kudos to you for saving the baby bunny "Red Hot Salsa" sounds like fun, good for you! Ozzie - My lower back also gets achy when I sit too long, good that you went for a walk. We changed our ISP server as the package was much better and less expensive. The internet speed is much faster, the TV has more options and channels, and our phone has all the bells and whistles. I finally figured out why the phone wasn't working yesterday. Alan put a code into the message system and gave me the wrong code. We cancelled the service call for this morning. My mail system is now working properly as a techie got right into my computer and set up the whole thing, even importing my address book from another program, phew, that was scary. Cheryl - My hydrangeas are spreading like crazy, no blooms yet but looking forward to cutting some and putting them in vases in a few weeks. I saw 2 very busy robins on our front lawn and sure enough they built a nest in our maple tree. It's hard to see because of all the foliage but it's fun watching them fly back and forth with twigs and tiny branches. I'll try to get a photo of them later. ![]() |

Good afternoon, everybody. Carol, I wish there were some line dancing classes nearby. I think I would go. Kath, sounds like you are getting in some good exercise and exploring your area at the same time. I like looking at everybody's houses and gardens on walks. Carole, I'm glad you got things straightened around with your internet, TV and phone. Jossy has grown so much! What a cute picture of her in the garden. She looks like such a happy child. Well done on getting your hydrangeas to thrive. The robins will be fun to watch as they do their nestorating.Jill, I used to teach cursive writing once a week, check their books and then give them stickers for doing such a good job on the lesson (everybody got a sticker because they really tried hard). I was fussy about it, too. I wonder if they ever use their handwriting skills much nowadays.I won't be participating on the forum much for a couple of days. We have a wedding to attend this weekend, for Robert's nephew and his lovely fiancee. It's going to be an outdoor wedding, weather permitting. We are taking Robert's 92 year old Dad, who wanted to attend his Grandson's wedding. Hello to everybody else, enjoy your weekend! |

Latest update from CROW on E8CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Inc. E8 Update: #E8 has been moved to the small flight enclosure outside to give the eaglet more room to spread its wings and help build strength in its right leg. The move outside is to also encourage E8 to eat on its own without assistance. If E8 continues to improve over the next couple of weeks the next step will be to remove the pin from the femur. G'day Peeps my Friday, hooray! But big storms are suppose to hit for the next few days which alters our plans for being outdoors, oh well. Bob wanted to buy a new printer. A non-clothing Dept store here called 'Harvey Norman's' was having a 3 hour 'sale' starting at 6pm, so we headed up to Gordon. Bob was after a new printer. I couldnt believe the CROWD there! I had to go back downstairs to nick a trolley from the grocery store because HN didnt have enough to go around for the shoppers! The two check out lines I saw were 30+ people deep! Fortunately, the printers are kept in storage so the sales guy directed us to a short line counter to pay and brought the Epson out. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Bob said 'lets go to Macquarie Center early tomorrow morning' for the sales. I have no idea what else he wants to buy.... unusual for him, he hardly ever 'shops'. His son Brian & GF Madelyn are suppose to come Sunday lunch. The cancelled last Sunday at the 11th hour and we were left with enough chicken to eat the rest of the week. It wasnt a meal I could freeze. I got up late this morning. We stayed up late last night watching 'Zero Dark Thirty' . Then Bob couldnt sleep. Neck pain. He has a physio appt today, maybe that will help. He says he will have surgery on it when he gets back from the holiday. Poor guy. When I get up, I have a little routine, let Leo out (or feed whichever he wants most), open all the blinds for light. Turn the heater on the main areas (not bedrooms), spray the orchids, water the plants if needed, turn on computer. THEN I make my coffee and sit down at the computer. I should go for a walk instead, especially with rain coming. Cheryl your Nails are gorgeous! I couldnt wear black polish, it disturbs me. Rachel also wears black and other odd colors: blue, green, and it doesnt bother me. A wedding sounds so much fun, and kudos for taking the GrandDad!I do like to look at the neighborhood's yards and houses. I'm putting together a little video with special houses I like. When I finish I'll share. Yesterday there were four kookaburras in one tree singing, but by the time I got my phone out to video, they'd moved on, I'd disturbed them! Sounds a good deal with a new ISP, Carole. We have a package too, huge savings! I have hydrangeas too, but need to cut them back for Winter. Some late blooms with the warm weather temps last month occurred which stopped me from doing that sooner. What color are yours? When Rachel was learning cursive in school, I was surprised the teacher didnt encourage the children to hold the pen/pencil in a more standard manner. The kids were allowed to hold the pen/pencil any which way. They do still teach cursive here! I am thinking of you Kris, and your pending move. I hope it all goes smoothly. And here comes the rain!

You know how TV commercials work ... there is one for every product you can imagine. Some of them are funny ... some of them are beautiful ... a lot of them are not very good. Well ... this is maybe the best commercial ever. IT'S PRETTY MUCH A GUARANTEED SMILE! https://www.youtube.com/embed/OWG3rtGoIlI |

P-51's on Iwo Jima (These are incredible pictures!!) Don't use auto run, take your time and Scroll thru each pic. Just put your pointer on the picture to Get the drop down info. Click on the picture to see in full size. Some WWII Iwo Jima photos not normally found in today's "quick" history updates. A tiny Island , apparently some amazing crosswinds and quite possibly the volcanic grit did not make the best surface for runway operations. Here are some of the best WWII pictures I have seen. Don't know where they came from. http://picasaweb.google.com/7thfighter/IwoJima?authkey=Gv1sRgCIW06db_6oth&feat=email#slideshow/5299163150448181842 |
