Good morning...Two days with temps in the mid-80's and expecting at least three more days of these same temps. The pots are nearly ready to plant the annuals. DD and SIL will come tomorrow morning to help with some of the heavy trimming...the job goes so much faster when everyone gets together to do it.

Thanks for the lovely photos of the eggplant and white pumpkin. The pumpkin looks like what I am used to calling a squash...sorry I forgot who posted the photos but I enjoyed them...always love to see what others have in their gardens. I don't have Fotobucket so unable to post pictures.

DH and I had a nice dinner out last night at our favorite Italian restaurant. It's a neighborhood place...we've been going there for years...they all know us and we know the owners and their help...they make the best eggplant sandwich!!!

Nice to see so many baby eagles and the panda cubs. Watched a very interesting show on Animal Planet last night from the Bronx Zoo.

For those of you that have Daylight Savings Time...remember to set your clocks ahead tonight!!!

G'day Peeps, another BE-U-TIFUL day outside. And today will be a Gardening day. A lot of weeds to pull up. I also have to re-stack the dahlias, they grew way bigger than I thought they would and are tilting because I only put short stakes on them. Opps. I'll keep Snowy with me too, on the lead.

Thanks for the comments on my pumpkin Chiquita. They are white now, but will eventually turn the darker color that butternuts do (and yes, it is a squash!). The plants keep pumping out more male fruit which I have to pollinate by hand, otherwise it falls off the vine.

Carole, again thanks for the updates. The description about Xi Lun is so cute.

Yesterday's shopping was tiring. We had to buy some ankle socks for Bob, a hand held vacuum (for small quick jobs) and hit the grocery store. We get offers from the two major grocery chains which Bob, being the Accountant, works out the best deals. So the deal worked out that we had to spend $50 in one store, and $110 in anther store. The first store has inferior fresh produce, so he decided we'd buy only non perishables at the first store, then go to the 2nd store for the rest. It meant driving to two different locations, a PIA. But it woked out OK because I bought my self a present. I fell in love with it. I HAD TO HAVE IT! (its about 2" high). I tried putting good quality fake flowers in it, but putting anything in it detracts from its own beauty. I used a flash which has washed out the colors a little.

Chiquita - It's great that your DD and SIL will help you with your garden work/trimming.

We also have a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that we go to regularly, love the food, service and the very special servers.

Ozzie - Great that you got some grocery bargains :)^ The tiny vase with the birds is beautiful, enjoy it!

Your weather sounds wonderful. It is very cold here now with a few flurries. Hopefully tomorrow will be better as we are going to visit our old neighbours who moved away, about a 1-1/2 hour drive from here. It's brunch at 11:00 a.m. and lots of stuff to catch up on.
