G'day Peeps, my sunny Sunday. Rain is suppose to disappear today. I spent about 8 hours in the garden yesterday planting my spring bulbs. I had about 50 of em! Some of them will stay in the ground, others I have put into pots. I also discovered a huge number of grubs in most of my pots and hanging mesh plants. grrr

And I mean A LOT

Hey Deb, waiting for news about your newbie!

WELCOME HOME CHERYL!!!! Great photo of you. I presume that is your ship in the background. Look forward to hearing more about your trip!

Posted Image Hello, everybody. :}^

Busy day working through the laundry piles from our trip.

We also have a long-time neighbour who is sadly on his last days on this earth. He is the father of Ian's best friend. Back in the 1970's he was exposed to asbestos unfortunately. He has had a shockingly sudden and speedy failure in his health. We got some nice meat salad and sliced meats and fresh rolls and Robert took them over for their lunch. They have three sons so we thought they could put together some sandwiches and the Mom wouldn't have to do that. Allison also got some food ready for them. They are parking one of their cars in our driveway since the police gave them a ticket for parking on the street overnight (no compassion, maybe they could have knocked on the door to find out why there were so many cars there).

Kath, eep, :o that's a lot of huge grubs! What would they turn into (or would they remain grubs)? You'll enjoy your bulbs next spring. I always wish I had planted more.

Catching up March 12, 13, 14:

Kath, any more ticks or did you get rid of them all on yourself and Snowy? I saw the funny cat at the beach video that you posted on FB. Snowy would enjoy doing that. Best of luck to Rachel with the court case vs her ex roomie. Good to know that it is going to cost the roomie court costs. :)^ (Going to look up emoluments clause re: Trump).

Carole, what a lot of snow and rain at the various nests. Spring needs to arrive soon for all of them. The parents are always so dedicated. <3 Beautiful picture of the male protecting the female in the storm. Good to know the parents are feeding E9 after the accidental fledge.

Jill, thanks for the videos. I'll have a look when I have more time.

Carol, your landscape picture of MCR is crisp and wintry but the light looks different - a sign of spring. You certainly had an awful lot of thick, heavy snow. The deer come to eat the bird seed under the feeder in our yard.

Kris, I signed the "Force Change" petition regarding the lead bullets.

Our Ports of Call were: Fort Lauderdale for start and finish (we were at a hotel for a couple of days before the cruise). Seven ships were in the harbour on the 10th and left all within the hour of @ 4:30 to 5:30. Our ship, the Holland America Koningsdam, left third. It's only one year old and is a gorgeous ship. Usually we travel on Celebrity cruise lines and would still make them our first choice but this itinerary was a good one so we went with HA for only the fifth time. Kath, yes, that was our ship behind me in the turtle picture from yesterday. Overall this was our 40th cruise, hard to believe but it was.

Posted Image Bridge of our ship with the Carnival ship in front going through the canal/channel, Celebrity Silhouette on the right starting to leave. (pic taken from our balcony)

Next stop was Half Moon Cay, one of my favourite places. It's the private island in the Bahamas belonging to the Holland America company. We walked way down the long beach so we could get away from everybody else.

The next stop was Amber Cove, Dominican Republic (yesterday's picture with the turtle sculpture). It wasn't for us, no beach, a huge pool with tons of lounge chairs, bars for drinking and really loud music plus a number of stores for shopping. Apparently millions of dollars were spent to develop the location by the Carnival Cruise line with the agreement that they would not have to pay port fees for 20 years. Will post a couple more pics tomorrow for the other locations.
