Sunday greetings to All. I wish I could comment more on recent posts but haven't been able to catch up, so wanted to pop in with a short update. Cheryl, thank you for signing the lead ammo petition. I can't imagine anyone so insensitive to not recognize how vital to struggling endangered species it is to not use lead ammo when hunting. We've seen Bald Eagles die from its effects, and so many more Birds and wildlife that feed on carrion killed by hunters. Birds of Prey, and other scavengers, are also subject to death due to feeding on the discarded remains of companion animals euthanased and sent to landfills by the vets. A usual practice. How horrible is that? Another reason to cremate our loved companions. A Pox on anyone who even thinks of murdering wild life, especially with lead ammo! This new administration seems determined to undo every environmental and conservation gain of recent decades, and is already affecting endangered species with new rulings. BTW: Your cruise looks divine! Ah, to be in a Tropical Paradise. And I'm so happy Wynn continues to do so well. Thankfully the health care bill failed and now Lori and Jeff won't lose their coverage. It was also a blessing to the 24 million who'd also lose their coverage under the new plan, and avoids the "crushing age tax", and the "stealing from Medicare", as well as eliminating coverage for "female" related costs like mammograms (!!!), and other unconscionable omissions. Obviously not well thought out, showing no compassion, or understanding of what's really needed. |

Cheryl - Your cruise photos are wonderful and you look so beautiful! Kris - I am so happy that the Health Care Bill wasn't passed and that Lori and Jeff still have coverage. If I started ranting about this new administration I would be banned from this forum ![]() Bust day here, Jocelyn's brunch, butcher shopping, home to make meatballs, do laundry and house cleaning. See you all tomorrow |

G'day Peeps, an absolutely stunning Autumn day outside yesterday and today. I wanted to go to the zoo, but that got put on the back burner for several reasons: a) Bob needed to attend to his family tree stuff; b) Bob got up late c) first clear day in weeks = crowded zoo d) I had yard work I still wanted to finish and e) clean the spare room. As it turns out I overloaded the front load washing machine and had to pull out all the dripping sheets OMG, what a hassle. Finally got everything on the clothes line by noon and I was out in the yard until now. Trimmed a big hedge getting out of control. Swept up several large buckets of lilly pilly fruit from the tree next door, it makes an awful mess. Planted parsley, spinach, red onions lavender. Not all in the same spot. Cleaned out a bunch of finished stuff. Snowy spent a good hour out with me too.Carole, you have a very busy day today! Best part would be the brunch!~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOCELYN! I agree with you about the USA Administration. Oh Boy about the Nest attack Kris, happy with you too about the non passage of TrumpCare. What were they thinking!? Jill, all your links are great. I just love Simon's cat. Did you find a toy for Katie? OMGosh Cheryl, the cruise sounds wonderful! I cant get my head around the fact there is a port JUST FOR SHIPS. We are salivating over a new cruise with Viking. Starts in Japan and ends in Vancouver. We have so many places we want to see though, this may have to wait. http://www.vikingcruises.com.au/oceans/cruise-destinations/caribbean-americas/north-pacific-passage/index.html This is so funny. Snowy is trying to catch dust flecks reflecting off the downlights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh4wPbxQeB0 |

Good afternoon...Our morning started out cloudy and dreary but it's now sunny and bright. KLJinOz...Gosh, that's quite a pot full of grubs. We call them white grubs...they're the larva of the Japanese beetle, although, there are a couple of other white grubs that look exactly like the ones in your photo that will turn into other types of beetles. I get them in my garden, too. Such a pain, since while they are underground, they eat the roots and later the beetle feasts on the leaves!! Our Japanese jasmine outdid itself this year. It covers the 4 ft. high fence which separates our property from our neighbor...it's about 70 ft. long. The dense blooms fill the air with an overpowering aroma. Our large white jasmine, which covers the top of the arbor, will be in bloom in another couple of months. Nothing much to report from here...just a simple dinner tonight...tuna noodle casserole with baby lima beans or peas and fresh pineapple. Our local Dollar store has been having fresh pineapple, a dollar for a nice size pineapple. It's not terribly large but just right for the two of us. |

Ozzie - Snowy just lifts my spirits with all his antics in your videos, he's such a darling. Chiquita - Your dinner sounds I don't know what kind of grubs we have here but the raccoons dig up the grass to get to them and make such a mess. Would love to see a photo of your Japanese Jasmine and white jasmine shrubs when they are in bloom.

Jill, I bought mine at a 5&Dime type store, pet stores are waaay too expensive for the same product. The Curl Grub eventually turns into an introduced invasive species called African Beetle. What I thought was amazing is that the pot with the most grubs was a hanging hessian fabric one. Apparently these beetles fly and embed into the fabric. Most annoying. My friend who lives north says they are great for chickens, but I dont have anyone close with chooks. Love the smell of Jasmine. We have orange blossoms hedges (Murraya Hedge) outside our front yard windows. They are just finishing. |
