Yesterday I got the front garden bed all tidied up. I cleaned up all the leaves that had settled there over the winter. Last fall I cleaned them all up but more blew in and stayed, especially oak leaves which never seem to decompose. Most of my Canada 150 red and white tulips seem to have survived and are peeping through the soil. I covered them up with open wire baskets so the bunnies and deer don't nibble on the leaves. Three shrubs needed to be trimmed back as well.

Kath, I hope that all went well at your check-up.

Carole, it sounds like you and Alan took advantage of the nice days to do some clean-up at your place, too. How are your Passover preparations coming along?

Chiquita, you had a couple of really nice meals and a retirement celebration to enjoy. Scary about the rattlesnake on the path. :o I enjoyed reading about your inherited and continued collection of sea glass. We have numerous jars filled, plus more in baggies. A friend of Matthew's brought us some from a beach in Iceland, and we also found some on the beach by the St. Andrews golf course in Scotland. I kept both of those labelled for now instead of mixing them in with the general population.

My sister did really well on her 5K run in Hawaii. She placed 4th in her age group. Matthew did a couple of long training runs here over the weekend, both a couple of hours long. Friday night it was chilly and windy. No-one was around as he ran past a puddle with four $20.00 bills fluttering in it. Our Canadian bills are plastic so they weren't all soggy. He picked them up since there was no-one to ask if they had dropped them.

Robert has taken Wynn for his treatment at the university so he may not be home for awhile.

When I was getting ready to vacuum on Saturday I tossed the dog pillow and dog bed up on top of the footstool to get them out of the way. We keep the footstool near the window in the winter so the dogs can watch the birds and squirrels. I went to get the vacuum out of the closet and when I came back this is what I found. :D :P Mia looks like that "Princess and the Pea" story. She cracks me up.

Cheryl - Mia is one smart dog, she looks so comfortable and she has such a beautiful view of your garden. :D

I've cooked and frozen my brisket, meatballs (made from ground chicken) and a sweet chicken made with apricot jam, Russian salad dressing and an envelope of onion soup mix, the kids love it. I've also made 2 kugels (like a pudding but baked) with matzoh farfel, (tiny pieces of matzoh) with sauteed onions, carrots and celery. Also baked Mandel breut, better knows as Jewish biscotti ;) Also 30 kneidlach (matzoh balls).

I still have to make my chicken soup, chopped liver, poached salmon, grilled veggies on the BBQ, salad, and all the trimmings for the Passover service. None of these things can really be made in advance so I will shop for all the vegetables and fish on Thursday and start cooking Friday.

Yesterday was a tiring day. Changed the linens, (hate putting the duvet cover on) dusted, vacuumed the house, damp mopped all the wood floors and did 2 loads of laundry. Alan asked what I was making for supper and I said Chinese food that I will order and you can pick it up rofl which he did.

Today my back is achy so won't do too much. I've already prepared dinner, breaded chicken cutlets, just have to heat them up.

Kudos to your sister for doing so well in the marathon and I'm so happy for Matthew's good luck in finding the money :)^

Some catching up

Cheryl – sorry for your hassle getting to dentist – seems like that is always happening here  Grey’s – luv luv it !
Beautiful beautiful beach photo (and lady) ---- I agree a whole big beach – why do people have to pick right up against you grrrrrr lol

Carole – luv your FB photo with puppy soooooo cute
Horribly sad about Stewards Nest 
I’m always saddened to see the wet/snowy eagle parents – their dedication is beyond belief!

Kris hope it all works out with Brexit ….. don’t quite understand it all but hoping for the best

Ozzie – glad you had a very nice gathering …….
Hope your doc check was just routine stuff

Chiquita – we luv Italian food (if it’s good) glad you found a special new place
We have a small BBQ place coming into town and everyone is excited – can’t wait for it to open – hoping it’s good!

Soooooooo:

Mila came home after 9 days in NICU and then regular room – it was all about learning to eat and she’s doing just fine now! Mom and dad are happy to be moving on and having her home with them.

Gary hiked/camped this past Sat/Sun to get ready for NM trip again in early Aug. It was a little cold Sat night so he had to put on some clothes and jacket to sleep cause his backpacking gear is for summer – rofl! He survived just fine!

I went to Cradle of Aviation on Sat with 6 of my new scouts as they did Aviation Merit Badge! Was fun and they are very nice boys! Then went home and tended some business there – did paperwork for upcoming events and of course Toronto trip is just 1 ½ weeks away for 25 of us!

All my shoulder stuff is in place – I have to get clearance done in 2 weeks, I am getting cryocuff for swelling so that’s set up now, they already have my follow up appts set lol
In the middle of that, I have one more eye follow up for the gel that broke loose – I should get an all clear – it will just take time for it to dissolve and go away – grrrr

I do have to figure out what to wear for first week or 2 as I won’t be able to lift arm – will have to be something easy to slip on – I feel shopping coming up lol

Other than that – same old stuff – was a real nice day yesterday – warm and sunny finally – today it’s slipping the other way as rain coming on Tues but then Wed going to be better!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying your day

Hi Carol – whatcha up to

Deb - It's always so good hearing from you and seeing what you and Gary are up to.

Alan wasn't allowed to raise his arm for 2 months after having a pacemaker put in in October. I bought him 2 hoodies with zippers and he's still wearing them :P (got them at WalMart for $24.00 and they wash well). They should have summer weight ones out now, so check it out.

Mila Rose is such a beautiful baby girl  , so happy she is home.

What a great place to take your scouts, so much to see and learn.

I remember that Carole - great idea - I'm supposed to come out of the sling after a week but it will be slow go to raise arm and back to full motion as they have to move muscle and tendons to get to what has to come out .... a shopping I must go!
How is that hubby of yours ! Ready for some golf :)

The Cradle is a smallish museum but full of lots of info - the lunar module was built here on the island and of course the Spirit of St. Louis flew from here so lots of aviation history here .... very nice museum! and they do fun badges - think we'll do Weather next time!

Our good friend and neighbour had elbow surgery a few weeks ago and he also bought some hoodies. Like you he only had to wear a sling for a week, now he's into lots of physio and exercises to get back the full mobility.

Alan is doing great and looking forward to good weather and golf.

Carole, your Passover meal will be so delicious with all the favourites you are making. Alan has made excellent progress since his surgery. He'll be so happy to get back to golfing. No wonder you are sore with getting the house ready. I agree about duvet covers, what a struggle.

Deb, the aviation museum must have been very interesting. Sometimes the smaller-sized places like that are better for learning because folks can concentrate more rather than being all over the place. The triplet must have enjoyed some guy time away from his sisters. Mila looks great! I'm so happy for her parents that she could come home and is doing well.

Wynn did not receive his chemo infusion today because his blood count was too low. He should be able to get it on Thursday. He looks good, though, and is acting normally. It's just that the chemo pills that we had to give him last Monday were quite strong which lowers his blood count.

Cheryl - :candle: for Wynn that his blood count elevates and he has an easy time with his chemo on Thursday. He's a real trooper and will react positively to the treatments he is receiving. :)^
