To you Carole, Alan and all your loved ones. <3

Thank you Carole, Cheryl, Ozzie, and Carol for your much appreciated condolences on the passing of my Mother. :Hugs: She lived the last decades of her life abusing prescription drugs that she wrote her own prescriptions for until my doctor step-father died and she turned to my disreputable brother and his disreputable friends for "street drugs". She had a progressive dementia brought on by the years of abuse and several near fatal overdoses. Nothing Lori or I tried to do could dissuade her until shattering events caused her to require conservatorship and confinement in a care home. Her actions caused the premature death of my brother Erik, an angelic soul who had Downs Syndrome, and who she gave drugs to in order to keep him docile and locked in his room. It also resulted in Lori losing the only grandchild I might have had. <:3 There is so much more pain and loss she caused to many. So to say I had very conflicting feelings about her would be a huge understatement. Ironically, I planned to visit her next month when in California, but it was not to be. :(

This is a photo of she and I in 1947, taken in Santa Monica at the top of the California Incline. A place I lived a few blocks from for 33 years before moving to the UK. In boxes I have many more of her but not many on my computer. Lori has asked me for one of her in her younger days and if I find and scan any I may post another.

wow - I'm not sure what has happened with Carol
very sorry that she feels that she couldn't voice her opinion

everyone here are super ladies and super supportive and I've never ever felt as she has apparently posted :(

we indeed all have very different opinions sometimes and I don't always agree with everyone but I'm willing to listen and you know what, those comments have given me reason to think about things a bit differently sometimes - probably didn't change my mind - but we do need to understand where everyone is coming from.

Happy Passover those who celebrate.

We had a quiet weekend...nothing special to report except for all the usual weekend chores...laundry, change the bed and various garden jobs.

We did have a funeral to attend Sat. afternoon. The service was for our neighbor...a Naval pilot with over 20 yrs. service. He had a beautiful old Camero which his son in law drove to lead the motorcade to the burial site...so very cool!!! His son, who is about 20 now, is also in the Navy...father and son both looked wonderful. SIL is with a medical group...has been stationed in Italy, Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego and next week he deploys to Africa.

Retirements and funerals seem to be items on our calendars with more frequency now!!

G'day Peeps, my very cool cloudy Tuesday. It got down to 50F overnight, that is unusually cool for mid autumn. I did plant my bulbs the last 2 weekends so they now have a good start. I didnt think about WHEN they come up, I will probably be in the USA and miss all the glory of the blooms! Oh well. I will be in NYC with my DD when she celebrates her Birthday! We also booked tickets to see Hello Dolly with Bette Midler!

Terrific WC update, thanks for posting that Cheryl! PS. how is Wynn?

I am sorry for the loss of your friend Chiquita

Oh, that poor doggie, Jill! rofl

Debbie, you sure do keep busy! The trip to the Falls sounds terrific~! Hope your med clearances is CLEAR!

Kris, that is a lovely picture of you and your Mom. I know exactly where you are standing, my mother lived on Montana for about 10 years. Near the golf course.

Happy Passover to my friends who celebrate.

Melbourne had some wild weather the last couple of days. What capture this photo is!
