Cheryl - You were right about the Rose of Sharon. Charlene has tons of them in 4 colours, they are so pretty. Now I know what Elephant Ears are, never knew what that plant was. So sorry to hear about the stress you are going through with you sister regarding your Mother. I wish your Mom would change her mind or at least visit the residence for a tour. Kris - I too pray for a miracle that Ed's health improves so that you can move back to California. Linda - Nice to see you on the forum and hear about your trip. You will love Chicago, a beautiful city with a gorgeous waterfront, and great shopping and restaurants as well. Happy that you will also be spending time with your daughter in "The Big Apple", another fun city with so much to see and do. Are you planning to see any Broadway shows? |

I will have a full day to spend in Chicago with my husband before he has to head to his conference. As of now, we don't have plans except for a White Sox game in the evening. The next day, while he is in the conference I will be alone, and plan on doing a few things I haven't ever done before, one of which is going to see the Chicago History Museum. Friday will just be a half-day so I likely won't wander far from the hotel. While in NYC, we will be spending two days with our daughter. I was hoping they would have an apartment by then, so I could see where she lives, but they will still be in temporary housing. I'm not sure what she has planned, but we will find something. My husband and I will have Monday and Tuesday to explore - we will go to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, maybe go to Ellis Island and to see the Statue of Liberty. We also want to go to MOMA, see Central Park, we are debating about Times Square and the Empire State Building, I would like to go to Greenwich Villiage. We have not decided about a Broadway show. Good seats are plenty expensive, so we are talking about seeing a comedy show or two instead. Amy will be in NYC at least two years, so we will be back. Because of that we don't feel like we need to do everything now. |
