Carole, it sounds like it was a tiring afternoon trying to keep the GG's happy. It will be much better for everyone and especially for Sarah's well-being for her to be back at work. Will she be able to go part-time rather than full days? I don't know what her job is but that would be nice for her (just my opinion, everyone makes their own choices). How is her father doing now? On Wednesday it was quite windy here. The huge brugmansia plant fell over three times. We ended up tying it to the deck railing with a bungee cord and two old dog leashes (because the edges were soft compared to rope) for support. It looks pretty funny but at least it's standing. We're not sure we'll get another one next year. There were about ten blossoms on it yesterday.

Cheryl - Sarah is a Geriatric Doctor (Gerontologist) and sees her patients in nursing homes and retirement places. Therefore I think she can make her own hours and not do a busy full week. Of course she is on call for emergencies but usually they happen at night and Brad is home for the kiddos. Her father is doing very well, he's on a few medications but he is feeling terrific. Thanks for asking Doreen and Steve became great-grandparents yesterday, a beautiful baby girl named Avery. They are really young to be GGparents, she is 72 and he will be 74 in November. She will also be called GiGi by the baby as there are so many grandparents, I chose GiGi for the same reason. This morning was a crazy time for me. Maya had to go to the groomer, then I went grocery shopping, came home and put everything away and then had to pick Maya up. I also cooked 5 eggplants, chopped them up and put them in the freezer. I've started cooking for Rosh Hashanah as the family is coming on Sept. 19th for my special dinner. Not sure how many will be here but it will be between 17 and 21. Trying to get as much done as possible so it isn't chaotic just before the holidays. Loved the videos of the whoopers foraging and flying, they are so sweet. Now I am going to put my feet up and have a rest, I'm exhausted. Edited by Naturegal, Aug 25 2017, 08:52 AM.

Wow, Maya looks so pretty. Her fur really shines, Carole! The grooming staff must enjoy working on Maya and putting a cute bow in her fur. You are exceptionally organized getting started on your holiday preparations now. Spreading out the tasks a bit at a time is a great idea so you won't wear yourself out. Congratulations to Doreen and Steve on the birth of their great-granddaughter, Avery. They are young enough to really enjoy her! Having your furnace quit on you in the middle of January must have been awful. Great news about Sarah's father. She is a talented and gifted young woman being a geriatric doctor. She should be able to choose her hours which will work out well for her and her little ones.
