That was quite the day you had at your place yesterday, Carole. You must have started feeling like you were camping or something. It was good of both of you to help Doreen out as well. Years ago we had a water main break near my school so school was cancelled for the day. That was great, an unexpected holiday.

It's another beautiful day here. I hope to sit outside and do some reading once I finish some housework.

On Saturday we went to Stratford for a 95th birthday party for Robert's dad, Howard. Robert's sister and BIL drove up from Ft. Wayne. She brought all the food because she wants to help and can't be here all the time to help the way the other family members can who live closer. The food was so yummy, pulled pork with buns, macaroni salad, veggies and dip, chips, lots of lemonade drinks, a birthday cake, and a large cheesecake pinwheel with 12 different slices of cheesecake. I have never seen anything like that pinwheel cheesecake. Nancy bought everything at a gourmet grocery store in Ft. Wayne but I can't remember the name. Howard does seem to be going downhill, not eating much and being very weak and quiet. Matthew drove from Toronto to be there. Everyone was happy to have a chance to see Laurel with Ian and Allison. It was a nice family gathering, 14 people, not everybody but enough for Howard's tiny house.

Cheryl - Your weekend sounds great, how nice to celebrate a 95th birthday with family.
Howard looks great and of course Laurel is such a beautiful and happy looking baby. The food sounds delicious :Yum:

Posted Image Happy Birthday Howard :bday:

The weather here is beautiful, sunny and in the low 70's, warming up as the week goes on.

Must catch up on laundry today as yesterday was a "wash-out" rofl

Louisa's new puppy, "Jack" made it safely to Lunenberg on an Air Canada plane in cargo to Halifax.
He is now 9 weeks old.

When they arrived home they let Cora the golden retriever out to meet her new friend. She got so excited and jumped
all over the place welcoming her new "Toy" :P

The 2 cats weren't overly excited but one of them keeps going into Jack's crate, so far so good.

Louisa and Barry had a sleepless night, Jack was whining and barking, they moved the crate closer to Louisa's side of the
bed and he eventually settled down.

The following day they took Cora and Jack to a local pub, everyone was petting them. Louisa wants to socialize Jack and
he was so good at the pub.

He did have a few accidents in the house so they removed their area rug from the great room as they have polished
concrete floors. It was only his first day home so accidents are expected. Now they carry him outside to do his business
and the training has begun. I hope is is trained before he reaches l40 pounds rofl , can't lift that weight.

Carole, I'm smiling so much about Cora being so excited meeting her new buddy. Kudos to Air Canada for getting Jack safely to his destination. Mia cried a lot the first few nights we had her. She missed her Mom and siblings so Jack must be feeling like that, too. He'll adjust and the training will work out quickly. It has to, with him being such a big boy. Thanks for the picture. He has such a kissable face.

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Howard. I showed the graphic to Robert and he says thank you also.

G'day Peeps, Tuesday. Currently sprinkling but I do see blue sky too, just not over us! :P

Yesterday was Queen's Birthday. :bday: What day does Canada celebrate it?

Carole, you certainly had a busy day yesterday but it sounds like you and Alan handled it in stride. Chinese takeaway sounds :Yum:

Ah, Laurel is growing so quickly, she is so pretty! I love her outfit too.
Happy Birthday to HOWARD at 95 years young! WoW And that 14 people turned up for his birthday shows the love! <3
LoL at the dog's teef!

I actually have some work to do today...

My favorite flower in the winter garden.
