G'day Peeps my Saturday. I dont know what happened to the rain and cold blowy weather we were suppose to get, but it is beauiful outside, about 22C.

Kris, relieved you heard from your DD. Mothers and Daughters, eh! My DD sometimes treats me like I am an imbecile. LoL.
I know she still loves me, so I usually call her out when she does talk down to me. The biggest problem is she is very soft spoken and I cant hear her, constantly asking her to repeat herself.

Carol/Sunnyland has every right to voice her own opinion (1st Amendment) about her thoughts of Trump. However, Carol, do not berate us for what we think/say. If you could keep your opinions to straight facts rather than blasting us, you might find yourself having a decent conversation with us. We are here because of the Eagles. And if we voice our opinions about political / public people that you dont agree with, then tell us why you think, without denigrating us.
So you think Trump is "He has already done many good things / He has brought
down unemployment the lowest in years and many new businesses have started up / and yes! actually doing something about the North Korea leader, who was ready to start a 3rd world War "

Obviously, nearly everyone has disagreed with you and outlined their reasons why. Let me reply (without bullying)
1. Trump did not win the popular vote. Yes, he won the Electoral vote. This was due to Gerrymandering. Do you know what that is?

2. The evidence of the elections that have been held post Presidential election has shown a large swing against the GOP. I would venture to say that most Republicans, given the chance, would not have voted for Trump.

3. You can thank Obama's administration for the current state of the Economy which is a trickle on effect. I could get into a discussion about Economics if you want, but LInda may be more appropriate, being an Accountant. Dont forget though, the US has had to borrow to maintain its payments, now blown out. "On January 26, 2016, debt held by the public was $13.62 trillion or about 75% of the previous 12 months of GDP. Intragovernmental holdings stood at $5.34 trillion, giving a combined total gross national debt of $18.96 trillion or about 104% of the previous 12 months of GDP." Given the tax reform under 'trickle down' economics, the poor and middle class will grow larger. Is this what you want?

4. North Korea. You are right about Trump securing a meeting with Kim. However, only proposals were made. I wait to see what the outcome will be. In the same sentence I will will laud Obama for reaching out to Cuba in 2014. This encompassed a prisoner exchange, travel and economic exchange. "U.S. delegation made it clear that "improved human rights conditions, including freedom of expression and assembly", remain a central element of U.S. policy in normalizing U.S.–Cuban relations" (Trump has not done this with NK).
How did the GOP react?
Congressional opponents of the new Cuba policy vowed to try to block its implementation, with Rubio announcing he would hold up the confirmation of any U.S. ambassador to Cuba whom Obama might nominate. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas described the policy as a "tragic mistake."
But a large group of GOPers like the deal, lead by Senator Flake (AZ).
BUT On June 16, 2017, President Donald Trump issued a Presidential memorandum reversing some aspects of the Obama administration's actions regarding U.S. relations with Cuba, and characterizing them as "terrible and misguided". He says he can get a better deal. (so far, NO). The biggest result was that Cuban Americans could not visit Cuba. My best friend is a Cuban/American/Australian. You can imagine how she feels.

5. I am going to add TRADE DEFICIT because this is Trump's reason for alienating LONG STANDING ALLIES/trade partners. Have you done any reading about what the US balance of trade with other nations is? Below are a couple of links to show that the US has a really healthy balance of trade with most nations. Who isnt: China (oh, a close friend of NK).

https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/index.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_trading_partners_of_the_United_States

So, lets go back to bullying. Are you going to deny that Trump does not bully via his tweeting?

Are you going to deny that Trump is a con man: Trump university (found guilty and paid off), Trump Foundation (indicted), Trump's lawyer and several close associates (indited).

And lets not forget his POLICY of separating children from parents. Evidence is clear and unanimously held by experts that this to waaaay too traumatic for children's mental health . Australia incarcerates boat children. I hate it. Its wrong!
(and I am pro migration control, but wall isnt going to stop them).

Please enlighten us as to why Trump should be respected.

I know, long time no chat :( - my new bosses and job setting is really busy! and the 45 mins to drive there and 45 mins home
We now have 50 scouts in our troop
And then just life :)
I miss you all much - think of you all often - and really need to get here to visit :)

I also learned I have a genetic eye disease (as does mom, sister and brother - the others weren't tested yet) - eventually leads to blindness but we can have a cornea transplant BUT when do you make the decision to do that. First dr. was a joke but thru facebook found a terrific guy in the city! My exam with him really enlightened me and now I'm not quite all consumed with losing my eye sight! I since learned that I have dry eye which can be managed and that's doing well now - I also have beginning of cataracts but that is causing me issues so probably in the fall, we'll move forward with that surgery and hope it doesn't cause the Fuchs to go into overdrive. If things stay as they have been, I may never need the transplants :) We'll see. The new dr. is terrific, full of information, looks at all aspects and is totally about quality of life and being proactive! So it was a good exam today - moving forward!

Anyway hope all of you are good - enjoying the beginning of summer (well except for ozzie ;) ) - miss ya much! Will try to get myself here more often :) Thinking about a visit to CA finally …. maybe in Sept??

Hi Deb, nice to see you here

50 scouts?!! WoW  How many leaders?

Sorry to hear about your Fuch issue. I just read up on it, there is lots of research being done, so hopefully a good surgical outcome.

Hugs to you and Gary.

Hi ozzie - about every 10 years they come out with a better treatment but we're hoping I never have to do anything :)
The transplants are extremely successful and very little rejection!

We have 50 boys but 10 are graduating in a couple of weeks, aging out as they head off to college this fall. All 10 are eagle scouts too! woo hoo
We have probably 7 eagle projects ongoing on top of everything else we are doing! It's very busy but the kids are terrific! We head to summer camp in about a month?

We have 6 leaders - several come and go according to obligations - we are training a new guy who came over with the cub scouts and hoping to recruit a couple more :) Hoping a few of our graduating guys stay on since they will be going to local college :) we'll see!

5 mile hike tomorrow - yawn - need to get to bed :)
