I ended up not going to synagogue last night. We had the craziest power outage. It kept coming on and going off and the lights were very dim until everything went black. The carbon monoxide detectors were buzzing and it was just too eerie to leave Maya alone. Also, the automatic garage door probably wasn't working. I said my prayer at home and lit the candle

G'day Peeps. Woke to thunder. Whoa! ![]() Yesterday Bob & I went shopping after our Dentist appts (yes, we coordinated them). I actually dislike shopping with Bob, he takes sooooo long to make up his mind. Well, haha, so long that I bought something too. He was after a lightweight raincoat. We ended up buying thigh length Gortex raincoats, Kathmandu brand. Mine is forest green, Bob has black. So today is the day to use it! Not much to report here: Bob's best friend's brother passed away yesterday (heartattack) and Doreen's (Bob's middle sister) husband is in for prostate surgery. John is 80-something so there is always the danger of something going wrong during surgery. Very little work to do, have several books on the table to read, some sewing and knitting. Should keep me occupied. Carole, rather frightening about the carbon monoxide!~ Anyone watching the World Cup? Everyone have a great day. |

I wanted to comment yesterday but couldn't manage it. Cheryl, I understand why you informed Deb and am glad she saw the problem with Carol's comments, and glad she's now banned from our forum!! It's just too bad her offending remarks were also eliminated so our responses were less clear to what they addressed. Maybe she deleted her post herself since she's all sweetness and light on CHIL and wouldn't want her image "tarnished" there. Ozzie, your list of DT's offensive/untruthful, etc, remarks, and the highly questionable, if not illegal, actions he's taken were so well spoken and further enlightening to me, who follows as much as I can from my UK perspective. Excellently spoken. We get the "UK version" on CNN in limited doses. This separation of children from their parents at the border that's being enforced now is so inhumane and outraging and so like WWII practices! I'm not hopeful of anything getting better anytime soon. When "he" was elected a very wise person I know told me it would get a lot nastier and frightening in the next years because of DT's election. Right now I'm watching a news story on African elephant poaching. It's horrific how close to extinction poachers are driving the poor Elephants. I read a story recently that said some Eles are now even being born without tusks!!! to help their survival. Darwinian theory in practice. And yet our evil POTUS has decided to allow "Trophy Hunting" spoils to be imported. His two evil sons like to Trophy Hunt (I've signed many petitions in protest of them!) and am enraged the practice is being condoned and furthered. I just hope I die before the last Elephant does. Ozzie, Thank you too for your suggestion of Hirudoid Cream. I searched it and it seems a good product but it's Bovine based unfortunately so not one we'd use. Ed's ex who's an expert on holistic and homeopathic remedies has for years been sending us from France, even when we were in the US, a product called "Rap" that we've used for bruises and other skin injuries. (available on eBay) It's wonderful at dispersing fresh bruises, and is wholly holistic, being made with Arnica and other botanics. It does seem to immediately disperse the skin bruises I get from minimal impacts on my arms and hands. I have very thin skin and it can hemmorage (sp?) subcutaneously at the slightest cause. An inherited predisposition
