Carole, thanks for the concern for Ed's psoriasis. You wouldn't believe how bad it is! His lower legs just drip with blood at times when it's acting up. He couldn't sleep all last night because of the pain. I woke up at 5am and he wasn't in bed but in his office working! He did come to bed eventually but hardly slept. It does no good for his other symptoms either. The news here this week has been full of the latest "Spy poisoning" in the UK. I don't know how much the international news is reporting, but a couple fell ill this week and are now in the same hospital the "Ex-Spy" Skripal, and his daughter were in, after an apparent "hit" ordered by Moscow in March. The latest couple are in Salisbury Hospital in Wiltshire where both Ed and I know well and have also been admitted for a couple of emergency episodes over the years. (It's 30 miles from us and the closest hospital) The couple who fell ill this week in Amesbury (20 miles from us), seem to have apparently been poisoned by the same nerve agent the Skripals were. They'd been in areas we know well before they fell ill. One theory is that they may have picked up some "litter" or an object that was discarded by the original attackers and were poisoned by it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Toronto last week! We did too much traveling for such a short time, but still had a lot of fun. We arrived from NYC Monday afternoon, and checked into the Airbnb we got which was downtown in the Financial District. We then walked over to the CN Tower. The wait was quite long - almost 2 hours - but we stayed and spent quite a lot of time looking out from the observation deck. It is always intriguing to see things from that height. Tuesday we went to the Royal Ontario Museum, walked around the shopping area near there, and then went to Casa Loma. The ROM is a truly great museum, and we could have easily spent a couple days there. I know we will come back to Toronto and will go back there. Casa Loma was very fascinating, as is the story of the guy who built it. There was an Asian couple there that was getting married later in the day and was having pictures taken in different areas of the house and garden, and it was fun to watch them. The gardens and flowers all about Toronto are just gorgeous. We live in the desert and just don't see a lot of that kind of thing, so it was a real treat. Kris, my heart breaks for Ed and his condition. It sounds absolutely awful. It is too bad there isn't anything that can be done to help. I have heard about the "spy poisoning" in Britain, but I didn't realize it was so close to you. Interesting that it sounds like these two recent people may not have been specifically targeted. |

Kris - The recent "poisoning" has made our TV news. They said that something in the area that previously affected Skripal and his daughter was probably the cause. They are now seriously checking out the surrounding area for the contamination. Linda - So happy to hear that your stay in Toronto was great. The ROM really takes a few days to see everything, but at least you got there. Did you enjoy "Hamilton" in Chicago, it is supposed to be fantastic. Perhaps next time you visit here, we can meet and spend some time together. I've had my computers shut down most of the day due to severe thunder storms. Lots of lightening and rain but now all is quiet. |

G'day Peeps, it is absolutely GORGEOUS outside, early spring day. Up to 75F predicted! Carole, thank you once again, as always, for the BE updates, season is almost finished! Thinking of you and Robert, Cheryl. Kris, I too hear the news about the poisoning, SCARY! I remember you posted a picture of Ed's leg, it was awful and I cant imagine the pain he is going through. I hope is subsides soon. BTW, I have an Instagram account and came across a MFG in Thailand who makes really cool clothes. Today they posted a tee with Frida on it, gorgeous! https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk17zxznhz8/?taken-by=tarmafia_bkk Linda, your trip sounds a wonderful whirlwind! How is your daughter doing? Rachel is at Montauk Beach taking Th/Fr off for make a loooong weekend of it. No doubt having fun. Heading into the weekend, busy with Saturday night dinner at friends and a birthday lunch on Sunday. Today, I have a little work to do and I am going to treat the outside wood table & chairs with oil tincture. Bob says I have to sand them first. BS!
