Poor baby Echo. Doug Carrick certainly has cherished him and has given him a beautiful final resting place. Jill, such a gorgeous tree in bloom. No time to post more, off to the vet's for Brynn's annual checkup. Just got home from the garden centre, found some really different daylilies plus lots (and lots ) of other stuff. The place is out in the country but worth the drive, and not busy today. This weekend will be chaos so I wanted to get my plants early. Still too cool for impatiens but I can start on the perennials.Eagleholic at work, good one, Topa!

G'day Cruzers! Cheryl! As usualy, Great Graphics! BTW, how is your MIL????? Love Jacaranda trees, Karen has one in her front yard. There is a similar tree in the 'warmer' parts of Australia called a Poinciana Tree, like the Jac but RED. It isnt warm enough in Sydney for them tho. ![]() |

This is so cool! A recently released map detailing the impacts of humans up and down the Pacific Coast provides a first of its kind look at how activities on land, sea and in the air affect the waters offshore. Every inch of the Pacific is affected by 10 to 15 different activities, ranging from shipping and fishing to sediment pollution and climate change. “The ecosystems are getting hammered by a whole diversity of onslaughts,” said Carrie Kappel, one of the researchers with the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis at UC Santa Barbara, which produced the map. http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/may/13/map-details-human-impacts-on-pacific-coast/ |

Thank you, everybody, for your nice comments on the graphics today. Ozzie, MIL is still in the hospital, wants to go home but will likely be there another week. Serious bacterial infection (bladder) but she is improving. FIL is gradually being talked into accepting the idea that they need help - nursing home care or something. How is your mother doing? Pretty red tree, too. Manu, love that license plate of yours, oh, yeah. .... and the eagle flag! |
