okay, last posting before I hit the pillow and wake up to Monday Morning...![]() TINY seahorses bred in captivity as part of a new experiment to save the species have been released into Sydney Harbour where once strong stocks have diminished. Last year researcher David Harasti from the University of Newcastle was granted permission to collect four breeding pairs from Sydney Harbour to establish a breeding program. Mr Harasti, accompanied by interested members of the public, took 22 of the baby seahorses back to their natural habitat as part of a special harbour cruise. "Once the babies have reached approximately six months of age they are ready to be released back into Sydney Harbour," a Sydney Aquarium spokeswoman said. The young seahorses will be monitored in the harbour providing what Mr Harasti said will be "valuable information on this species". |

Topa - Wonderful pics of the dogs. I went to a Police Dog trial once and it was amazing to watch how they are trained. |

Ozzie, thanks for the panda article and video. I watched it on the full screen while I was having my coffee. Interesting how they are not allowed to name a cub an Australian citizen if one ends up being born in Australia. Didn't know about the tiny seahorses, hope they do OK in Sydney Harbour (yay, I got to put the 'u' in harbour! Usually I have to remind myself to leave it out). |

I like the scoopy pattern on its wings! Nice screen shot, Carole! I think this is TH though That's a keeper of a picture, couldn't get any better since the head is showing, too.DH was watching them last night and noticed how they fall over after they flap. I think it's because their wings are so heavy at this time in their development. |
