I love Spring too Carole, our Apple Blossoms are out right now. Oh so pretty. I'm thinking I need to get a good picture of an apple tree in bloom. Lilacs are also starting to bud. It's 64 degrees here right now, high of 67 tomorrow and 81 by Thursday. My boss and I just took a walk over the hill - Chocolate covered strawberries left over from last night's end of the year party. Chocolad

Great photos of Dawson, Topa. He has such an intent look on his face and you captured his "ready to go" body language perfectly. I think a border collie would require even more exercising and attention than a whippet does. Border collies are one of the most intelligent dogs of all. I read an animal hero dog story to the Grade Ones this afternoon. They thought it was fiction until I showed them the book cover "27 True Stories" "Animal Heroes". Penny, thanks for the Buddy update. I also read in the other forum that you had contacted the Assiniboine Zoo about the elderly eagles. Wow, 45 years old now and sitting on an egg. Thanks for getting an update from them. I did wonder about the people who put an eaglet in a nest with two other eaglets. That must have been somewhat risky, and the zoo's response to you reinforced my thoughts about it. I like the theme for the TH nest. If the vote works out we will have Sun, Moon (Sol and Luna), Star, and Thunder and Lightning. Perfect for a nest that is so close to the sky on a rocky ridge.

BBQ RULES We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion: Routine... (1) The woman buys the food. (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert . (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand. (4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman. Here comes the important part: (5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. More routine... (6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery. (7) The woman comes out and tells the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat. Important again: (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN. More routine... (9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes. And most important of all: (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women. |

Cruzers, I have a special favor to ask of all of you. Could you please keep my RayRay in your thoughts and prayers tonight. DH and his ex-wife took Ray to the emergency room shortly after work. He had chest pains, a terrible stomach ach and nausea and was having difficulty breathing. They ruled out any heart problems, no problems with liver or kidneys. They were thinking possibly he was having an anxiety attack, lots of stuff going on with school, sports etc. They sent him home, two hours later he started vomiting. Then within a half an hour he was vomiting blood. Rays mom took him back to the ER. Dr.s aren't sure what's going on with him, now they think perhaps he's has some sort of virus or bacterial infection. They are keeping him overnight in the hospital. DH is with him and he sent me home. |
