- eaglet has a hood on; making the final adjustments; this is the middle eaglet, likely a female, according to the chat room

Good Morning All!
Topa - Love the Lab
Cheryl - Great shots of the Norfolk Banding. Sometimes it's easy to forget how remote our nests on Catalina and the Northern Channel Islands are, and how dangerous it is on a daily basis for our biologists ( B-)) , :<S><: et.al) to get near them. The Norfolk nest site would be like having a nest in a tree in Avalon. I can't picture Dr. Pete in a bucket crane! He's more of a "Hanging by a Helicopter" kind of Guy :D

- off to meet the public (I'm so jealous.)

- waiting for their sister to return - according to their chat the oldest and youngest eaglets are males

Manu, I was thinking the same thing - this looks like a cinch compared to what Peter and Jim Spickler and the rest of the crew have to do.

Now they think one of the other eaglets (still in nest) is a female, too. That makes two females and one male.

Topa, thank you very much for the photos of Val. What a heroic dog being part of the search and rescue effort in New Orleans. You are doing a spectacular job with your photography. Two thumbs up! :)^ :)^

CDN,
Thanks so much for posting the photos of the eaglet banding.
yes, I can't wait for TH chicks to be banded.. ^"^ ^"^

I'm glad you liked the NDSD lab photos. Isn't she sweet. <3

One of the introductions at the event was for a black lab that
was rescued from a humane society locally by a senior couple.
The couple brought the lab to the NDSD Foundation because they
realized they had an exceptionally smart, strong, hiper :D dog.
The owners wanted the NDSD foundation to check out the dog.
It turned out that their dog made the cut! I can't remember
the stats but only a few dogs make the teams.
So the dogs I've been posting, they are the olympians.
Isn't it wonderful that the black lab got to be the hero
he was born to be!
<3
