Cheryl - Thank you for the Whooper Update. Wish I could view something like that, they sound so cute and each one has a different personality. You've gotta love those OM people. |

Life is great, life is good........I got my whole IWS package in the mail this morning. Membership renewal, notecards, pin, and hoodie. I think Alan wants the hoodie as I ordered a large, so if he continues being a good boy and follows doctors orders, he can have it. Last week I received the adoption package for Pimu and Heidi and brought them in to Costco to have them boarded. I picked them up this morning and they look awesome! Will post a photo of them when I hang them on the wall in my eagle/computer room. I am so eggcited!

CAROLE .... I LOVE that idea ... might have to 'steal' it - t'would be perfect for the Marina Office - We have a BIG map of Catalina on the wall and a couple of other things for peeps to keep themselves busy with if made to wait for a few minutes and this would serve an additional purpose ... another way to introduce the subject of the eagles (like we need another ) and to show something tangible they would have should they decide to contribute monetarily! I talked our Home Office into purchasing a year of placement on what I'm calling the Eagle Wall of Fame at the Pimu/Heidi Enclosure so that when we encourage our boaters to take one of the inner-island tours available they will see a 'supporter' plaque for 'Peter's Landing Marina'.

I really like your pictures, Carole! You say you had them mounted at Costco? Do they do that at the photo counter? |

Linda - Yes, right at the photo counter and you can choose a color for the board. I went to a frame shop and they wanted over $30.00/picture for a frame with glass. Costco charged $7.99/picture and I thought that was a bargain and they look much nicer than if they were framed. |

Hi everyone Cheryl, the Whooper report today made my day. I'm smiling from ear to ear. Topa, loved the words and pic on your post! Here is another thing that got me smiling this morning. Some local guy went to the desert somewhere and found a huge gold nugget. Ralph and I went prospecting for gold on a vacation once, and it was soo much fun. We did a little panning and improvised sluicing up on the American and Yuba rivers in the Sierras. That was by far the most fun vacation. Camping and prospecting for gold. We only found a few little flakes, but the fun we had was priceless. http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/may/28/gold-rush/ Edited by Bea, May 29 2009, 11:28 AM.

Joanie - Go for it! It would make a great display in the office and as you said, it would be great exposure for IWS. That was really nice of your Home Office to support the Wall of Fame at the aviary. To make room for the eagle plaques, I took down paintings that I had done, I like these better. I just love Pimu and Heidi and have to make the effort to get out to Catalina to see them, along with Peter and Steffani. |

Deb - A mile away I have heard them from the basement which is two stories down and they are loud and clear. Sometimes they scare me if I can't see the camera and am doing something else on the computer. What a difference the mike has made thanks to Peter.
